I love Doom Metal, and I'm always open for what the genre has to offer, but sometimes I come across stuff that is just not my cup of tea, sad, but true. This is one of those cases, being a fan of almost everything that releases Firebox Records, I was eagerly waiting to be surprised by this Finnish quartet, but instead I got boring music with lack of layers and textures.

The premise is easy, Doom-Death Metal with simple riffage, rough vocals and some whisper-ish voices alongside. When I finished the first spin of the album I was totally disappointed about this one, then I gave it 3 more tries in the next days. My opinion remains the same, this is not the album I was expecting.

It seems we're at the verge of a over-saturation of Doom Metal, when bands with low-quality standards in terms of song-writing appear, that's the cue for other bands like that to appear. Luckily for us, Doom Metal will never be as popular as Gothic or Power Metal, so rest assured that this is a minor setback in the scene.

While this is not entirely bad, it fails to convince me, the compositions are lengthy and they don't deliver too many changes or different sections to avoid repetitiveness, with a song of 9 minutes you can't just go and repeat the same section over and over again right?

Too simple, too repetitive, too boring, you name it. My advice? Stay away from these release because it has nothing spectacular to offer, in comparison to other fine Doom masterpieces that has been released this year.
