Well, it's not "breaking news" that Australia has the sickest bands in the whole world, we've already heard Ebolie's violent Grindcore. We also know the fast as diarrhea grind coming from Fuck?I'm Dead, and have met classic names such as Blöod Düster, Intense Hammer Rage and The Berzerker Now I'm about to present one of the oddest bands in this country, a solo-project with severe brutality and the oddest vocals you'll hear ever.

This band is called Bowel Fetus and the man behind the curtain is simply named Glen, really insightful right? I'll get more realistic now; the music is really amazing as a matter of fact, the riffs and the musical structures are actually fresh, catchy and quite entertaining. The whole album is a weird (but good) experience wrapped with utter brutality and cool segments here and there. Yes, maybe this is not the most original music ever, but this Glen guy manages to generate creative and unusual sequences in every song presented in this CD.

In the first paragraph I said something about "the oddest vocals?" right? Now I'll explain a little more: the word ODD often means "good" in my reviews, I like when things have a bizarre edge if you know what I mean, but those vocals went too far for my taste. Glen tried to create the lowest kind of guttural noises ever, I can't say precisely but I think he even used a shifter to create that effect, then, when the throaty vocals merged with the FX, a "click click" feedback entered to distort the vocal tone enormously. I've analyzed this segment over and over again, I don't hate the vocals, but a more solid effect would fit much better with the overall sound (I'm thinking Last Days Of Humanity or Torsofuck for that matter), then the vocals would sound brutal as a severed corpse instead of just brutal yet silly.

This album hasn't left my stereo since I received it, that's a good thing obviously; once you get used to the vocal effect you'll finally understand the good things this album offers, that's exactly why I say "Bloodsoaked Doomaggedon" is worth checking out if you are into this genre and even more if you dig the Australian Grindcore scene as Bowel Fetus could be the oddest band from that country.

I think the same thing! However though, I think silliness might've been, in a very small way, a side-effect Glen included intentionally.

For me, though, my only interest in Bowel Fetus is as a novelty band. Eh.

This is truly a unique band, but I do agree that the vocals are a bit annoying with that clicking sound.

I must say that the intro is absolutely phenomenal. It sort of reminds me of the oldest of heavy metal bands like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple.

I also agree... The vocals are very hard to get into...
But if you manage to get over it, then it turns really good.

But fuck... they are really horrible at times
