Original bands and albums are not legions nowadays but well it's always better to release something that will work for sure right? At least, Ground Zero System, a band that comes from Norway, didn't choose to follow any trends, at the opposite the four guys decided to play a really original mix between Death and Industrial music. For sure if you're totally refractory to electronic music, go away right now, but if you can like powerful Death mixed with Indus this album will be for you, so don't miss it my friend!

With only four songs, I already know that this band has a real big potential. Their music is original, powerful and heavy but it's catchy and really addictive. The mix between a pure Melodic Death Metal and Industrial music is well done and plus, those two different styles are perfectly mixed so the music is really interesting.

The album is cold like metal, dark and oppressive but on the other hand, it's something that will give you the "headbang" feeling if you see what I mean. The drums are a real blast, the riffs sharp like a bloody razor and the powerful Death vocal of the singer is a real hammer. Though, you have to know that it's not something extremely heavy and brutal like with a band like Tristwood. If a song like "Hatestate" (a real potential hit) is a pure blasting catchy Death song, "Semper Fi" with it's extremely heavy and slow riff and its hypnotic Industrial backing melody is a lot more unconventional. This is simply the proof that the release isn't linear. But There are a lot of good melodies with Ground Zero System and it's melodic. The industrial beat are well mixed and don't destroy the Metal side of the recording. On the other hand, the guitars, drums etc, don't kill the Industrial side of the CD, it's a really nice equilibrium.

Ground Zero System is a good band. Their first a EP is a real success and no doubt that they will be able to find a label soon. Remember this name and remember my prediction, we will talk about them soon, even if they don't play Symphonic, Power or Gothenburg Metal. Highly recommended for all the Metalheads who're not afraid of musical orientations change?
