Do you like blasphemous lyrics? Do you like some aggressive dark music? Yes? Well so I'm sure that you'll love, Sear, a new combo from Finland that uses an excellent Metal mix of Black and Death Metal. This is a bit brutal and not so "clever" on a side but for sure the music of this combo will kick your ass?

Well let's fix an important point right now. If, you're a bit refractive to the blasphemous "satanic anti-Christians" lyrics (or like me, if you just find this kind of lyrics hilarious) you'll probably be bored by this album. "Begin The Celebrations Of Sin" is full of Satanic clichés so except if you really like this kind of lyrical themes it will be fine for you five minutes but later it will be different for sure? On the other hand if you don't care about the lyrics and just want some good powerful songs, I'm sure that Sear will be for you?

Between Black Metal with its fast aggressive drums blasts, cadaveric vocals and dark riffs and brutal Death Metal, "Begin The Celebrations Of Sin" is a really nice piece of heavy music. This album is fast and full of anger and the alternance between fast rhythms and mid-tempo is really nice. You'll be able to find a lot of great breaks and it's, without any doubt, one of the strong point of this release. "Begin The Celebrations Of Sin" is not only a matter of music, it's also a matter of ambiances and here, you can be sure that you'll be able to find some great ones. Also, the songs are all extremely catchy. It's extremely easy to remember the chorus of "Lobotomy With A Crucifix" for example when the riffs of "Scythe Of Blasphemy (Kiss the Goat)" will just give you the feeling that you must headbang?

The production of the albums is more than correct and well, even if it's not so original nobody can deny that this kind of album is just a good release, for the fans of the style at least. "Begin The Celebrations Of Sin" is really brutal on a side but the songs are all catchy and in the style, you can be sure that it is better than a lot of other productions...

"Begin The Celebrations Of Sin" is a nice piece of music and I'm sure that a lot of people who like Black or Death Metal will enjoy this album. Maybe that the lyrics are a bit average but the music if great so if you want to discover a new cool band from Finlan, please have a look on their first album, "Begin The Celebrations Of Sin".

This is one of my favourite releases of 2005 and I can agree mostly with the review. The lyrics are indeed funny and stereotypical, but as long as you don't take it seriously this is some kickass stuff. Highly recommended.

Good blackened death metal. Good review, though I'd give it about an 8.
