Contradiction is not a new comer of the German Thrash Metal scene, actually they even started their career in 1989 and released their first album "Rules Of Peace" in 1993 but they never found the way to become popular like Kreator or Sodom. Why, well, probably in reason of their extremely classic and conventional Thrash something not really new and not so inspirited, and the problem is that we still have the same problem with their new release "The Warchitect".

"The Warchitect" follows the rules of classic German Thrash Metal. Take some repetitive fast guitars riffs, add some double bass drums, a fast frenetic tempo, some good guitars soli and a really hoarsy vocals. It's extremely basic and conventional, there is nothing really new here, the songs aren't so bad but it's extremely hard to find something that will surprise you. Plus, the voice of the singer, even in the style, is not so good. It's not horrible but "The Warchitect" doesn't give anything new or special to the style and definitely, except if you really want one other Thrash Metal release, this is not a must.

All in all, the production is correct but the songs are a bit average and I will not talk about the cover of Motörhead "Rock n Roll" which is not good at all. I don't know what to add with this album, this is not the worst album that I ever seen but there is nothing special and it's boring at the end? Too bad?

Without being bad, "The Warchitect" was too basic to catch my attention. This is this kind of album that you'll listen to one time and forget the other day. If Contradiction wants to become a big Thrash band, they will have to add a lot of personality in their music. "The Warchitect" is a classic Thrash album, so if you really need Thrash, you can try this one but if you're looking for something original?
