This is the first time that I heard something about Beardfish. Well, "Sleeping In Traffic: Part One" is only the second release of this Swedish combo so I understand why the band isn't so famous yet but let me tell you something, if they are able to produce in the future the same kind of albums than "Sleeping In Traffic: Part One", I'm ready to bet a lot of money on them. Fan of classy Prog Rock of the 70's, this is a must for you!

The eleven songs of this album are just classy. Beardfish plays a great old school Progressive Rock. Mixing the sound of the old Genesis for the complex guitars lines, or Huriah Heep and even Deep Purple for the cool Organ sounds, "Sleeping In Traffic: Part One" is a really nice album. The band wrote some good and complex songs, really deep but in any case it will be something boring. I mean that the melodies are catchy and yes, the Swedish combo found the way to write songs which will give you emotions. That's simple, some of the songs of the album will give you shivers, if you're a bit receptive to Prog Rock of course. Plus, the musicianship here is really exceptional and the voice of Rikard Sjöblom, main compositor of the combo, is simply incredible beautiful and add something more to the music. The different original instruments like organ, or accordion give a real personality to the sound of Beardfish and if you like old school music then I'm sure that you'll enjoy a lot the different pieces of music of the album.

"Sleeping In Traffic: Part One" is a good album which doesn't suffer of any real problems. The production is perfect, the musicians are great like their compositions what can I add really? Well maybe that I just have to warn the "true" Metalheads (after all Metal Storm is a Metal Webzine first) that we're in front of a "romantic" Prog Rock with a real 70's sound so don't expect anything fast or heavy. This is a pure melancholic album but if you like Progressive bands (Metal or not) I think that you'll be able to find something for you in this release. This is simply a perfect mix of the dozen of influences that we can find in the history of Rock.

"Sleeping In Traffic: Part One" is a really nice album and it's highly recommended to all the people who like to listen to Progressive music in general. Maybe that it is not Metal but who care, it's Rock and good one so please have a look on this release and you'll understand why I'm saying that Beardfish is one of the most promising band of the Progressive scene.

Good review; excellent prog-rock band. What I like most about them is that they seem to have a lot of fun playing music together. The musicians are talented and skilled, the songwriting is great, I love the vocals. I'm really glad I've discovered this band.
