The Industrial Metal band Deathstars (with former members of bands such as Dissection and Swordmaster) are probably one of Sweden's fastest growing bands right now. They made a name for themselves right away with their first album release: "Synthetic Generation." "Termination Bliss" is the second album by Deathstars and they have without a doubt developed since the first album. The sound is darker, catchier and more intense and melodical than before. The production is also a lot more dynamic and powerful, flawless I'd say.

Whiplasher Bernadotte's vocals were amazing on "Synthetic Generation" but now on their second album attempt I think they've gotten even better! He now uses his shrieks almost as much as his dark and deep voice which vary the vocal parts.

This album is a mix of darkness, glamour, goth and Industrial Metal. The hit songs comes one after another with a great intro by the sad "Tounges," followed by popular "Blitzkrieg Boom" which seriously blow your mind, "Motherzone" with a chorus you just can't sit still too and their most famous track "Cyanide." Although I feel that "Cyanide" is a little overestimated compared to the other songs one can't deny it and how catchy it is. The seven songs thereafter are probably even more amazing, every track is a piece of gold and it really is hard to choose a favourite. For me it stands between the opening "Tounges," the slow emotional "Virtue to Vice" (they truly are at their best during the mellow gothic parts) and the fast catchy "Play God."

There really is no doubt in these songs; you hear that the band are perfectly satisfied with the result. And they should be since this is a masterpiece, I'd go so far and call it one of Sweden's best albums in a long time! I don't know how many of my friends I've forced this album upon, how many times I've turned up the volume and sung "...fucking blitzkrieg BOOM!!!" or when I will get tired of hearing Whiplasher go from deep vocals to high pitched screams. All I know is that everyone who adores cathcy synthesizers, choruses and disco (!) needs to own this album.

What I long for the most right now? A follow-up to "Termination Bliss" of course!

It's an awesome review....you're right in every point here...this album is better than the first one(which has good songs too) but this one is more thorough....their style is more ripe here.....and I respect them also because their music is good both in live and through the speakers as well.....

It's hard to forget them live....I remember there were two red-headed teenage goth chicks attempting to turn the mosh-pit into a warzone....it cost me some energy to tame them....I liked it....I liked them...and they let me attempt to tame them.....too bad I haven't met them ever since.....

Got the whole album now and after a first listen I must say that it's a very good album, but it's not the best industrial metal music I've ever heard.
Songs like 'Blitzkrieg', 'Motherzone', 'Cyanide', 'Play God' and 'The last ammunition' are awesome, but then songs like 'Greatest fight on earth' and 'Virtue to vice' are the opposite.

That sucks man... It's always good to have good company in a concert, no matter if it's for headbanging, singing along, or "turning the moshpit into a warzone".

It does suck...let me remember...I actually met like three of four girls I would've like to have as a girlfriend...four were goth chicks...we exchanged mail addresses with two Latvian goth chicks but they never answered....and these two...they disappeared into the night air somewhere during Beseech gig....damn......well...I hope I'll be more lucky next time.....perhaps I'll even score...

I'm listening to album this very minute...and damn it's good. Couldn't agree more with the review. This album is one of the best albums of the genre I've heard and there are not a single bad song.
All in all; great music, great vocals and good lyrics

There will be more concerts, more chances to meet nice girls. Besides, Being Deathstars one of teh sexiest bands nowadays - These are not my words, are a friend's after seeing the video fro Blitzkrieg - it must be a good atmosphere to "score"

Why don't you try to score in concerts instead of dreaming?

How it looks ois not important. I don't judge people. What I can tell you is that Deathstrs are a good example to all of us... The image they have is considered one othe sexiest in the metal world, perhaps we could try to learn some stuff rom them.

A great album, full of killer hit songs. I didn't know his "nick-surname" was Bernadotte, that's awesome xD unfortunately he must be using tons of effects, because I didn't like his voice at all live. Otherwise his performance was good though. The rest of the band was terribly boring to watch though and most of the music were backtracks.

I don't think he does. I've seen some clips where his voice isn't that good, but when I saw them live both times his vocals was just as on CD, even better sometimes. Maybe you saw him on a bad day? And I really like the band live, think they should be that "boring" and stiff, it fits with the dark depressive music.

Just a thought.. I work with Swedish people on a daily basis and the only times i've come across such a name is when their (grand) parents have come from estonia.

No, I don't think so. 9.3 is waaay too high. 8 sounds a lot better. The only really good songs are Blitzkrieg and Tounges while others are somewhat repetitive and dull.

Damn, how much an opinion can change...

So I bought this album just a few days ago. I couldn't stand it. Sorry but this just sucks. I guess this was exciting because well... I was 14 and just got into metal. and now that I listen to this from start to finish. It just sucks.

It costed 79 SEK and I still feel like those guys stold me money. First time in a long time that I totally regret a new buy. Well, at least it was cheap, it's not the worst thing I bought, I'm just gonna sell it back and forget everything about this band.

May I inquire as to why you think it sucks? You aren't being very specific here.

I thought it was good, Deathstars are one of the few industrial bands that can ease my pain caused by the silence of The Kovenant. Or rather the pain caused by everything The Kovenant has or hasn't done after Animatronic.

Well, if you insist: It feels like really cheap music, I didn't feel a thing. It was exciting, well... it was exciting for a 14 year old. The songwritins is just meh. It feels so... mainstream without any soul. The music doesn't go anywhere and the electronic stuff just seems silly as hell... It's just boring, the first two songs were good but then verything went downhill from there, it was from "meh" to just annoying because I don't hear anything really interesting to me. The vocals were also quite hit or miss which I think is funny because 4 years ago I thought he was great.

4 years after I finally understand that this is far from how industrial should sound to me. I guess I'm "too serious" and don't enjoy this music that is "fun".

Now... If you guys excuse me for a second... I'm going to listen to some Industrial here.... Now, where's my Streetcleaner copy?

Well, I gave it a few spins.... I guess I won't sell it for two reasons: It's not as bad as it was before (it works fine as background music or just when I want some stuff with adrenaline) and because I happen to have the version with two CDs...

I scored it a 5 bedore... If I could put a 6,5 I would... But I guess I will put a 7 now. I guess I was dissapointed over the fact that I thought this was going to be a 9 or something,
