After their first and very good release "Secret Visions", Virtuocity, a young band of neo classical - power metal from Suomi, do its come back through Spinefarm Records with a new production "Northern Twilight Symphony" that will certainly be a confirmation for the band. It's not very easy actually to be original in the metals scene due to the ton of new bands of Power metal. The problem is maybe more important in Finland where we can see everyday, a new clone of bands like Sonata Arctica. This is certainly not the case of Virtuocity because due to the classical music touch in their music, they knew how to be different of the majority of the young bands who use to do same music.

It's clear that Virtuocity is again an another Power metal band. At the first listening, it's very easy to see that they do this kind of music with in addition that Suomi Metal touch that everybody know now. But the great difference with Virtuocity is certainly this part of classical music in their album. Like bands like Adagio, these guys from Finland have added to their music a lot of classical music parts and the result is more than convincing.
This album sound good no doubt, a lot of riff and melodies are very catchy. The musicians of the band are good too, Jaron Sebastian Raven is an excellent guitarist, same for Tom Joens [bass], Joey Edith [drums] and Michael Thomas [keyboards], but the really good voice of Peter James Goodman is certainly also the very good point for the band.
As I said before this album is nicely done, the production is more than correct another time for a Finnish band. If there is a point that is hard to criticize with band from Finland, it's certainly this one.
It's a real pleasure to listen such album, and I'm sure that a lot of Power Fans will agree with me , but when you have listened entirely this album, you will certainly feel a little problem.

And maybe I could talk about this little problem that I have with this album. Oki it's nicely done, very good when you listen it but at the end maybe it's a bit common. I mean that with the big potential of the band, I really think that the songs and then the band could have more personality. I can't say that I heard that a lot of time due to the classical part in the music but I really think and hope that in the future, the band will find a really personal touch [why not some more progressive touch in the music?] and believe me this time, we could have a real masterpiece.
Don't worry anyway, because it's just a little detail and I'm sure that with more maturity Virtuocity could be one of the leader of this musical style.

At the end I will recommend this album to all the fans of Power Metal, because no doubt that you'll like it. It's well done, nice and really interesting. For my part I really want to know the future of the band and their next albums, because I'm sure that we could have some really good things, maybe a little more uncommon.
By the way, "Northern Twilight Symphony" is a good album of Power Finnish metal, and for sure if you like this music, you can go to your favourite records seller and buy it.
