Terrordrome although having a name like a theme park ride, know how to make death metal and know how to make it well. "Vehement Convulsion" is these Greeks first full-length album and they would have a challenge making a better first impression than they do with this debut in their line of death metal.

This is straight to the point death metal, nothing particularly fancy or outstanding, just straight up brutal death metal ready to smash its way through whatever you put in front of it. Terrordrome have written somewhat of a puppet master for an album, as you cannot do anything but headbang compulsively to this rhythmic onslaught of metal.

This is the kind of death metal to tickle the taste buds of people that get off on bands like Prostitute Disfigurement and Visceral Bleeding with their sheer frontal assault with no questions asked. "Vehement Convulsion" is a half hour session of drum kit molestation that no death metaller in his or her right mind will be able to resist. Guitars on the album seem to have the role of carrying along the songs than to stick out and attempt to fascinate the audience with swish solos or technical brilliance, although there is the occasional flick of something slightly melodic. Guttural vocals although pretty average are performed well and complete the album along side the constant barrage of blastbeats that give it its backbone.

Listeners who are not quite so familiar with this kind of death metal will more than likely hear "Vehement Convulsion" as one long continuous and monotonous sound, and to some degree the album is a little monotonous and too single minded, but this is why bands like Terrordrome and albums like "Vehement Convulsion" should only be approached by individuals that love this genre of death metal and constantly crave more and more blastbeats and guttural screams.

This is not diverse music, but that does not matter if this is the kind of music you constantly desire, on the level of straight-forward, straight to the point brutal death metal - this album will deliver the goods in a handy half hour slot of your day.

Excellent.

I'm always on the look out for more death bands to get into, sounds like the kind of thing I'd be into, I'll give this a try.
Thanks Baz.
