Trinakrius is an Italian band that apparently already exists since 1995 and decided to release a compilation containing material from all three of their demos along with some new songs. As you have most likely correctly guessed, it's that compilation I'm going to talk about right now. I suppose some bands are better at recycling their old ideas than just writing enough new material to fill an album, but anyway, here we go.

Stylewise the band mixes heavy metal with epic doom metal and sprinklings of power metal and hard rock. Lyrics are all in Italian, which was probably a good choice over the heavily-accented English vocalists from the boot are known for. Despite the genre-mix, most of the CD makes a somewhat uninspired impression. The band is pretty good technically speaking, the guitarist and singer definitely know what they're doing. The songwriting has some nice parts here and there and is all-around enjoyable.

On the downside this is far from being hyper-original and the production isn't just not very good, it's actually vastly different between tracks. Two extremely annoying intros/interludes in the middle of the CD ("Inquisantesimo" and "Intrinakirus") aren't helpful either. Despite the criticism, Massacro is still quite nice to listen to. If it sounds like your kind of thing, chances are you'll like it! Don't expect all too much though.
