Disillusion - Back To Times Of Splendor 2004 / Every song on the album teleports me to a different landspace. And these are varying from a mountain lake embraced by nature (A Day By The Lake) to some totally deserted landscape (the title track). The whole thing is a something unusual. One of the few albums I used to sleep to. |

Persefone - Core 2006 / A very well-written concept album that really "shows" you the story. Congratulations, Carlos! |
3.
Fairyland - Score To A New Beginning 2009 / This isn't particularly a milestone album, but the great orchestrations really uplifts the songs and helps you imagine a fantasy world where we sail the seas and fight legends at the gates of Morken! |
4.
Blind Guardian - Nightfall In Middle-Earth 1998 / Oh, yes. The one that was hugely inspired by Tolkien's masterpiece. I can see orcs right there. |
5.
Ensiferum - Iron 2004 / Jari Maenpaa can't do any wrong. Iron makes easier to imagine you're a viking from the north fighting for you own land. |
6.
Jupiter Society - Terraform 2009 / Jupiter Society's music is purely based on slow intriguing melodies - it's like you would watching a sci-fi movie while listening to a space-symphony. |
7.
Kalisia - Cybion 2009 / Cybion is a journey to the future. |
8.
Opeth - Blackwater Park 2001 / I don't think I have to introduce the realm of Blackwater Park :) |
9.
Thy Catafalque - Róka Hasa Rádió 2009 / Atmospheric avantgarde music. The title is hungarian, it means "Fox's Belly Radio". It would be enough I think, but believe me you really can't imagine how good this album is. |
10.
Agalloch - The Mantle 2002 / Obviously one of the best stuff to smoke on, you heartbeat will fall down almost too much and easy to sleep on. |
11.
Moonsorrow - Varjoina Kuljemme Kuolleiden Maassa 2011 / This stuff with an unpronounceable name drags you to an extinct world where you can find no hopes. Am I right? Yeah, totally. This dark blend will give you goosebumps. |
12.
W.A.S.P. - The Crimson Idol 1992 / The coolest 90's heavy metal that makes you feel like you're 18 again and rise against the whole world! |
13.
Cloudkicker - Beacons 2010 / This so-called "the metal version of God Is An Astronaut" has gained upon its master. For real. |
14.
Radiance [FIN] - The Burning Sun 2010 / Introduced by a friend to me (and also introduced to some other by me) Radiance is somewhat like a more gripping and faster version of Jupiter Society, with more guitars. Same singer - Mats Levén Rules! |
15.
Indukti - S.U.S.A.R. 2004 / Flying above unknown but dark and beautiful landscapes, much like in the ancient Egypt, however the sun blinds you at times. |
16.
Unmoored - Indefinite Soul-Extension 2003 / One hell of an album. |
17.
Symbyosis - Crisis 2000 / If you can get yourself through the average production, and the fact that the band used a drum machine on this, it can be a very interesting sci-fi trip. |
18.
Edge Of Sanity - Crimson 1996 / Both Crimson I and II telling you a dark, sometimes sad story, although for me it's sometimes drives away from the concept musically. |
19.
Moonsorrow - Kivenkantaja 2003 / Seriously, this is like when you're riding through the mystic cold northern forests, discovering caves carved by the sea, and... Everything that is. |
20.

25.
Pain Of Salvation - "BE" 2004 / Some songs doesn't really fit the concept IMO, but when I'm listening to the rest I'm thinking about travelling from past to future (of humanity), and back. |

28.
Hieronymus Bosch - Artificial Emotions 2005 / Much like Norwegian bands, the northern russian cold has effect on this music. |
29.
In Vain - The Latter Rain 2007 / Exceptional for being the most diverse black metal album of all times for me. |
30.
Kaipa - In The Wake Of Evolution 2009 / Fairies, forest, lakes. |
31.
