I didnt want to add more than three albums per band, and those three are my favorites. But yes, Arkona reigns supreme.

Try listening to Borknagar's self-titled. It has a very "viking-ish" vibe to it.

I've only listened to the debut, and I can understand what you say. Yup, they don't have many solid songs. But they're still awesome.

His riffs on the debut are awe-inducing.

And BTW don't we say CONTEMPORARY instead of CONTEMPOROY?

Not really. Agalloch have dark folk elements, Uaral is more of a purely dark folk project.

So... somewhat similar, but not in the sense that you can say "if you like Agalloch, you'll like Uaral".

This list should help me get into blackened folk more, which is easily my favourite folk subgenre (although folk doom is great too). Nice to see Agalloch, Arcturus, Windir, Empyrium, Uaral and Dordeduh. All great stuff.

Haha, I know that feeling (although lately I've been lucky with a lot of +1 on different lists for some reason).

I have a few suggestions as well:
- Agalloch - The Mantle (why isn't it on here yet anyway? )
- Empyrium - A Wintersunset... (my favourite folk doom album)
- Kauan - Lumikuuro (essential folk doom album)
- Moonspell - Wolfheart (not sure if it fits this list, but an excellent album nonetheless)
- Nest - Hidden Stream/Woodsmoke (great dark ambient folk)
- October Falls - any album (you know them better than me, do choose for yourself )
- Tenhi - Kauan (nice relaxing neofolk)

Good. Nest is pretty great. Nice if you want to listen to some relaxing music. Kauan's debut is pretty underrated and I love that album. Awesome folk doom, that one.

Ah, thanks for reminding me. I know it's in very indirect way but yeah I was supposed to check out this album few days back only. It's Solitude rec again.

You know, someone posted on face-shut-off-book about "Lumikuuro" as an "awesome" debut and thought i need to check this one.

New album "Pirut" also to be come out soon.

To be honest I only really like Lumikuuro a lot (haven't heard Kuu though). The others are less to my cup of tea, but still good of course. However, I'm pretty curious to hear Pirut (stupid name ) seeing as they said it's going to be a mix of funeral doom and post-metal, or something like that at least.
