I would've done the same before listening to the new record. The new record embodies the identity of Behemoth, both lyricaly and musicaly speaking. It is their magnum opus, without a doubt. Demigod is good, but the shitty production pulls it back a lot, this is why I placed Evangelion second. As for Thelema and Zos Kia Cultus, the first I do not like that much, I think it is a little overrated while the other one has the same issues as Demigod. If anything, I would place it on the same line with Demigod, but not over 3rd place.

Personally, from their fist 3 albums only Grom has something that might attract the listener other than the trv kvlt attitude. Sventevith is mediocre at best, it is like a tribute to the Norwegian black metal bands and Pandemonic Incantations has a few good moments that would eventually be exploited better on Satanica.

I think Sventevith is better than any Norwegian album, and could attract many people.

Nope, it is just a wannabe early Darkthrone copy-cat. It has a few moments of inspiration, but it sounds like a Darkthrone tribute all the way. Fact is, it did not attract much atention. Their later works did though. From Satanic till The Satanist, Behemoth gained heaps of fans world-wide.

At least it attracted to me; and although you don't like it, since I do, I guess many other could do that too.

Cool list. Only just got into Behemoth (late to the party) with their latest album The Satanist which just blew me away and now I'm very excited about exploring their back-catalogue of albums.

Dr. Strawberry

- I don't like their Death approach at all.
- Grom and Satanica are their best, you can't find any Black and Blackened Death that are close to these two unique albums.
- Polish black metal is not easy to be copied, unfortunately they are very overlooked. Veles is not even here.
- Veles - Night on The Bare Mountain released in the same year as Grom, cover art also quite similar, both sound very polish but delivering different moods. Best Polish twins. Unfortunately this album is out of print for almost 10 years...I am still waiting...
