00:03 - Korah Yeah, MS ratings on new albums are totally f****ed! You just have to watch ratings from 2000 and ratings from 2016! Metal was'nt so much better than today releases.
23:53 - Czerny Reiter There's a dearth of reviewers on the site and most of what gets reviewed ends up getting a good grade (on the grounds that pro-bono reviewers mostly review what appeals to them).
23:48 - Overrwatcher I feel as if SSUS's review backlash is a perfect example of this. When he gave a 2/10 people didn't say much. When he gave a 9/10 people questioned his review integrity.
23:42 - Overrwatcher I will always bring up BMTH's "There Is A Hell" in this regard. Very well received literally everywhere but MS. Here it's one of the lowest rated albums in the database.
23:38 - Overrwatcher Bands can put out similar quality records to 10 years ago yet get over 1 point less. People have been much more negative recently. And MS also seems to shit on some albums at random.
Good to see Root and Master's Hammer here. Maybe you could also include one more band from the Czech Republic - Törr. They were very popular in the 80's but only in their country since their records were not distributed abroad. They were usually compared to Venom, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost and Bulldozer. Armageddon (1990) and Kladivo na carodejnice (1993 - compilation of songs from their early demos) are probably the best place to start. Both were included on 2CD Gallery together with their second and third album.
You have my +1 for sure. Very impressed by your list. I know a lot of these but the majority I haven't heard. Pretty much every album that needs to be on here that I can think of seems to be already here.
I would suggest Limbonic Art - Moon in the Scorpio though. Highly recommended that album, as it's fantastic symphonic black metal. The problem is, it's an album from 1996, so you probably won't add it (which would be understandable).
It would be great if you consider to write a little about the ideas and priority of yours when you picked em up.
There is no priority in the ordering. It is more or less chronological by years, as for a lot of the albums featured I couldn't find a release month so going full chronological is impossible. As far as mine or the ideas are concerned, you're going to have to wait a couple of years. I still have a lot to learn before I can expand this into more than just a list of albums. But it might happen in, like, two years.
What's the point of this list? Just listing every black metal album that's featured on MS from between 1981 and 1995? You can just filter the albums on the site and get the same list. Except it wouldn't include stuff like Sepultura that has nothing to do with black metal.
