Although there are metal bands of all genres hailing from Bulgaria, a very large portion of the scene is composed of black metal. Here are some of the best bands.

1. Raggradarh - Arise of the Ancient Flame / Rise the Pagan Forest
Atmospheric pagan black metal. As of 2010, there are 11 demos (many of them promos) and seven full-lengths. One of the biggest BM names in Bulgaria.
2. Calth - Fight for a New Become
Raggradarh side-project. Many demos and one full-length released in 2009. Raw black metal.
3. Nuklear Annihilation - Destruktive Warmachine
Old school black metal in the vein of Darkthrone. One EP and one demo as of 2010.
4. Bleeding Thorn - Darkness Born Black
Formed in 1995, this is their full-length from 2003. Not much is known about them, other than they split up afterwards.
5. Mortem Animalium - The Decay of Time
Very raw old school BM. Worth picking up.
6. Perverse Monastyr - Perverse Monastyr
Gas mask-wearing aggressive BM outfit. Three full-lengths thus far.
7. Primitive Angel Gospoden - Drunemeton
Slightly melodic BM. One demo and two split releases.
8. Frozen Tears - When the Earth Cries
Melodic black metal with elements of folk and gothic, inspired by Bulgarian culture. One demo and two full-lengths. Status unknown.
9. Orenda - Back in the Grave
These guys take the visual aesthetic kind of seriously, but they have some decent atmospheric BM to make up for it. Two full-lengths so far.
10. Serpentine Creation - Dystopia
Released their first full-length in 2009. Great, classic satanic BM.
11. Dark Inversion - The Land of the Dead Warriors
Symphonic black metal. Worth checking out.
12. ludicium - May Will Be September - The Onset
Released three demos and one compilation. Great pagan BM. Raw and gloomy. Later disbanded, the members forming Ork.
13. Ork - Blessed by Evil
Four demos and three full-lengths. One of the best bands Bulgaria has.
14. Skyggeverden - Dark Providence
One full-length. Strongly influenced by old school Norwegian BM.
15. Pantokrator - The Mystic Possession of Darkness
Very rare, apparently it's sold out according to the record label, but it's significant.
16. Krater - Hell
Probably one of the first Bulgarian BM bands. More like blackened death, released their demo Hell in 1991. Great and historically significant.
17. Sabrax - Devilsspear
Released two EPs and one compilation, currently on hold. Very morbid, well-executed black metal.
18. Sarakt - Sarakt
Released one full-length and one demo, both eponymously titled Sarakt. Also happens to be reviewed here. Historic black metal. Disbanded later on.
19. Svarrogh - Baxas Xebesheth 1883
Blackened folk band, later became neofolk.
20. Biophobia - You Are God, You Are Nothing
Extreme black metal with a touch of death metal. Currently on hold.
21. Darkmoon Rising - As the Dark Moon Rises
Melodic black metal. Two demos and one split.
22. Innerhell - Enemy of the World
Pagan black/dark ambient. Two demos, one full-length and one single. Well worth checking out, especially if you like metal which has an epic vibe.
23. Tomb of Time - Inner Satan
Three demos and one split. Satanic/occult BM.
24. Vrani Volosa - Where the Heart Burns
One EP and two full-lengths. Atmospheric pagan BM.
