pandrstudios Metal History

These are MY Top 250 Albums that are featured on Metal Storm in chronological order to celebrate 50 Years of Metal.

Some bands are featured on this list with more than one album, which means that they are perticulary amazing to me.

I listen to a wide spectrum of metal genres, which is why I tried to keep it diverse and not focus on one genre.

1. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
2. Deep Purple - In Rock
3. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
4. Uriah Heep - Demons And Wizards
5. Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies

Top 100 Non-Gothic Metal Albums

I've been really bored recently with quarantine so I decided to make a favorites list of metal albums that are not gothic metal. At first it was challenging until I had to dig back to old favorites that I haven't listened to in a while. I have also excluded gothic metal albums that are also considered another genre to make this more challenging.

1. Agalloch - Ashes Against The Grain
2. Disembowelment - Transcendence Into The Peripheral
3. Katatonia - Dance of December Souls
4. Kauan - Sorni Nai
5. Dolorian - When All the Laughter Has Gone

A Thrash List But Not Exactly From A Thrasher

Thrash may not be my favorite metal subgenre but it's one of them. There have always been thrash albums I always get back to with great pleasure and I am usually happy when thrash veterans get back with great music.
I say not a thrasher because I am stuck in the past, as it's easily to be seen in the list, new bands have not impressed me much, especially when they predictably wear their influences on their sleeves.

1. Kreator - Terrible Certainty
2. Metallica - Master Of Puppets
3. Slayer - South Of Heaven
4. Annihilator - Never, Neverland
5. Death Angel - Act III

Metal Rambo's Absolute Favorite Albums Of All Time

!!!!!UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!!

My rather personal and improvised take on the subject matter. The list is pretty wage, I'll be updating it a lot and the order might vary a little depending on some things, but they're all great and awesome records no matter what.

Limited to metal and rock albums found on Metal Storm. Most of them (at least 90%) are anyway, so doesn't matter. The absent ones are mostly more pop and synth oriented stuff and some really obscure jazz and fusion albums.

1. Marillion - Marbles
2. Anathema - Weather Systems
3. Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time
4. Reverend Bizarre - In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend
5. W.A.S.P. - The Crimson Idol

Club: Technical/progressive Music That Ain't Over The Top Wankery

this list is related to this forum thread, please check
this list is a collaborative one and will surely grow ; it is a proof of concept for a club feature, see here.

Hi people. I'd like to create a list of albums with the purpose of being as complete as possible. I'm looking for music that is technical or progressive, although I really don't like when things get out of hand, with crazy vocals in 4 different registers building tension and brutally stoping to yield it to a shredding solo in mixolydian helped by drums in 11/12 which try to imitate the synth syncopation in counterpoint, for ten seconds before jumping into something else.

1. Angra - Angels Cry
2. Angra - Holy Land
3. Angra - Fireworks
4. Angra - Rebirth
5. Angra - Temple Of Shadows

My Favourite Albums of All Time (Ordered) (Updated: May 2020)

I've been listening to Metal since 2005 and it has become my biggest passion in life.

Rarely a day goes past that I don't listen to it in one form or another. The bands I listened to in my teens inspired me to pick up the guitar (and later drums) and start making music of my own.

Metal means everything to me and I would be lost without it. So in my hunt to discover as many new bands as possible, here are the albums that have stood out and made the largest impact on me:

1. Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
2. Trivium - Shogun
3. Machine Head - The Blackening
4. Edge Of Sanity - Crimson
5. Opeth - Blackwater Park
