Scott Burns It is very hard to understate how much Scott Burns' talents have given to the world of metal music. He might disagree about the following statements, but his work defined one of the most admired and revered eras of death and thrash metal, vastly influencing the sonic imprint that was to be copied for generations to come, and his skills were far and beyond just the engineering.

Best Of 1988… The Year That Defined My Metal Life While 1987 woke me up to metal and I hoovered up the likes of Iron Maiden, Metallica and Helloween’s keepers, 1988 was my metal heyday and a year that produced albums that would still dominiate my top 20 list today. Lots of power metal and plenty of Noise Records!

Death Is Only The Beginning (Of This List) This is a list of all the death metal albums I have listened to that I thought were at all worth remembering. Like my other genre lists, this is just a record of my own listening experience that I use for personal organization, not a definitive account of the best or all of the death metal out there; there will probably be albums or bands that are not death metal in the strictest sense. You'll find some OSDM, melodeath, tech death, death-doom, maybe a bit of deathcore, I don't know. Maybe some non-death metal albums by death metal bands that I put in here just because.

F3ynman's Greatest Track Numbers Ever Inspired by Jiri's list of greatest track numbers, I decided to make a tracklist of my own!
I chose 1 song as the best 1st track of any album, 1 song as the best 2nd track of any album, etc. The list goes to 10 tracks, because I only know a few albums that have more than 10 tracks. To keep it diverse, I've followed the rule of 1 song per band. I've tried to also choose the songs in such a way that the tracklist flows nicely, with diversity in pace and genres, but still working together to create one hell of an album!
