Note; Anything I rate lower than 8 I deem underwhelming. Sure, I might even acknowledge some of them as being rather enjoyble, but considering the "bigger picture of things", I find them unsatisfactory (in varying degrees, depending on their rating).

Well another year went by so it is time for me to make a list of ALL my favorite releases this year. I didn't exactly keep up with every underground or main stream release for that matter. I didn't even hear all that many new albums this year. Pretty much, What you see is what I bought. However I had just enough to make an adequate list. This is my manual for getting into one of the most complex, ridiculously insane genre there is: techdeth! Many albums featured here may borrow elements from other genres (prog, thrash, melodeath, grindcore, post, etc.), but the dominant stench of complexity-laden death metal is forever present, and so deserve to be mentioned here.
