Exactly as expected. This is nothing like the Leprous I came to love. Malina was indeed a sign of things to come. I also fail to see why are all prog fans excited about this. This is not even prog anymore, it's just Einar's amazing voice but not much else going on. What am I missing?

It's recognizable Leprous even beyond Einar's voice, especially from the build-up towards the last chorus. Structurally this isn't actually that different from songs on The Congregation, it's just not metal.

That's only true for Lower and maybe Moon, even though they were still metal(ish). The rest of the tracks in The Congregation are nothing like this new song or anything in Malina. I'm not going to apologise for liking metal. I'm too old for that shit...

Maybe structure isn't the best word for what I mean but I wasn't thinking of Lower, which is close only in style. Similar to The Flood that is based on a simple rhythm, this song is also based on one musical idea that is expanded upon. The minimalistic synth melody at the beginning and the strings are basically playing the same musical motif.
