New song

Looking forward to this album, the first song released is very promising. Interesting this album listing is already up on MS but no news item about it.

I'm looking forward to this, too. I liked the song, nice riffs, if it had a solo, keys or guitar, it would have been even better (for me that is).

Wonder if the title is a coincidence.
But then again who still believes in coincidences in 2020?

Is this album now available to purchase? I went to Google Play and it says it is only available for pre-order, becoming available on July 10. I'm in Australia but I thought it was released today (5 June)?

- edit: just looked at their Farcebook page and found the following statement "Unfortunately, due to ongoing logistical challenges, our new album 'Virus' will now be released on July 10th."

Release date pushed back another two weeks.

It's not helped by having several motifs in it. I'd think of it as a two part concept.

I have a pet theory that both albums are about social media, but two sides of the same coin. One individual, one societal.

This has been a very enjoyable album. AOTY material for me.

Tried to buy it on HD Tracks. Low and behold, the hi res version is not for sale in the United States... what a crock. I'm picking up the cd tomorrow. Glad to get it, but disappointed it's not in hi res...

Should have a higher rating than Vector.

Neither liked Vector nor Virus. Old ones were really fresh at those times and they never followed Dream theater. But in 2020, there's nothing new.

First 4 tracks are pretty solid, especially the opener "Prosthetic" and the "Messiah Complex" has some good moments. "Canary Yellow" is the weakest track imo. It's a good solid prog album but nothing I will remember in the future. "The Mountain" stayed in my mind immediately and has some additional elements that make it an exceptional album compared to this.

Should have a higher rating than Vector.

Came back to this album recently and definitely surprised to see the ratings so similar. This is easily on par everything pre-Vector (excluding The Mountain).

Not enough Keyboard show off in this album, which is a little bit disappointment conpared to the previous haken works. Hope to improve next time with new Keyborad player. Overall a great album, and I like Messiah complex pretty much.
