Bad English

This band is under my radar and far away what I listen since 80's albums and ausgebomd. But I check new songs and album. Seems eding second guitar player they somehow manage write best (and far away from 80's) from 90's to now.

The drummer leaves a lot to be desired. Thus making this unlistenable for me. I stopped at track 4. I do like the Black/Speed approach on, "Sodom & Gomorrah" but that's about it.

I couldn't get a glimpse of the hype over this. Rather average to my ears.

Standard thrash, pretty good, nothing astonishing which is not what you should expect with a sodom album anyways

The first two songs were very boring, but after that is very interesting, without anything new..

We still using "poser" in 2020?

Hovering between a 6 and 7; I've never been much into Sodom, although I did like In War And Pieces a fair amount, but this feels very non-descript in terms of there being anything particularly memorable. The second half of the title track is decent I guess

With the few EPs they released before this, you would think it'll be great. But this is not as good as "Decision Day," which was pretty good (and that was not better than "Epitome of Torture"). I read they were going to use a more old-school raw production approach. I do like he was using "Obsessed by Cruelty"-like vocals. But I do agree - the songwriting is just plain & the drums were pretty lacking. The only songs that popped out to me were: "Harpooneer, Dehumanized," maybe "Genesis & Euthanasia." Even some of the song titles were bad. Sounds like they wanted it to feel "M-16/Code Red"-era but didn't make it. Its just a pure thrash jam album & feels rushed, like they just wanted to release something real quick. So not like Sodom. Awesome album art though!

This album should have been just 6 songs in 30 minutes. 54 minutes is too long for this and it starts to get boring. Lot of filler materials. The middle three to four songs are good, especially the title track and a few songs after that, but the rest are just average.

Modern day Sodom albums are good enough to keep interest in the band ticking over but not enough to advance it or inspire any kind of late career resurgence like many 80's thrash bands (with a few exceptions). I think Genesis is their best one since their S/T (Decision Day didn't really click with me) and one that is worthy of replaying. Have to agree with the point made earlier about the drumming, it sounds underproduced compared to the rest of the band and plays very simple rhythms.

The only recent Sodom albums I've heard are In War And Pieces and this one, and given that both came after the self-titled by the looks of it, I'd have to disagree with your statement. In War And Pieces is way better than this, I couldn't even finish this album it was so boring

I don't think there is a big gap in quality between much of the post 00's releases tbh, I'll give Sodom that, they have been consistently middle of the road for much of the past twenty years.

Some good songs, but overall just very meh. The production is so-so and the drumming/riffing could be better.

What's wrong with the drumming? I think the drummer does a good job and the snare sound is just awesome for this album.
