The most accessible Krautrock albums I've heard - perfect introduction to a swampy genre for any curious metalheads.

That said, it may be a mistake to make this the first Scorps album you listen to.

I say this is a brilliant album, remember in those days metal was not really born and hard rock (as todays metal heads liked) was still in dippers specially in West Germany(those who do not know there was 2 Germanys East and Eest)
Its greta album I like it even not really metal but it works, all atmo, arrangements and all about it and musically to are great there

It surely is a great album. And the video is a classic.

Different from all the Scorpions albums that were to follow, but still has the edge and the hard rocking but with the 70's prog rock style which is quite nice for a debut. Reminds me of "King Crimson". "Fly to the Rainbow" has similar influences but they start to disappear completely in "In Trance"...

Haven't heard anything by Scorpions before now, before this album, no joke. Maybe I won't be listening to this one again, it's promising stuff, especially the title track is great, but there's so many other albums...

This album is absolutely superb! Great guitars ( Schenker ), production and a psychedelic vibe of the early 70's.

Highly recommended for discovering Scorpions from their roots.

Never understood why this one is rated so low.

I was a huge Scorps fan as a kid. Spent hours listening to Animal Magnatism, Blackout, and Love at First Sting (side note: have you seen Gamazda's cover of Still Loving You? -It's a masterpiece). I bought Lonesome Crow out of a bargain bin one day (remember them?), played it once, hated it, and never listened to it again until today, some 36 years later. It's pretty good. Really psychedelic. I like it. Of course very different from classic era Scorpions. It's still probably only a 6 out of 10 though.
