Well that's a guitar tone you don't hear that often in death metal.

The two available tracks sound fine but don't have me as hyped as I'd like to be for this.

I like it quite a bit, particularly some of the more melodic inclinations they have, but I remember being more impressed by Dwell. Still, likely to be one of the stronger DM albums this year

Edit: Actually, the longer the closing track goes on the more impressed I am by it, definitely a strong closer to the record

^ Suffering Hour is one of the best new death metal bands out there. This is another great record, but not a better one than their debut, in my opinion. And "Dwell" is in a league of its own, it is unsurpassable. The last track on this album tries hard and it's a commendable effort but it does not succeed to achieve "Dwell"'s level of brilliance.

I regret preordering this. The guitar tone makes my eye twitch. May as well be nails on a chalkboard. Thought this was a safe bet after Dwell. Wrong.

I really thought this was going to be the album which put them in the same conversations as Blood Incantation and other top tier new DM bands but it's a bit disappointing.

Not as good as the debut and definitely not as good as Dwell.

It's better than a 5/10 though. ^^ That's just crazy talk.

Yeah what the fuck is up with that lead guitar. The guitar tone is heinous and every note is obnoxious vibrato.

Last album is much better.

I don't have any issues with the guitar tone at all.

This has grown on me rapidly actually, I was wrong to be disappointed. It's another great Suffering Hour album.

What I like the most in this album is the lead guitar tone! It makes me feel uncomfortable, almost scared something bad is about to happen to me, and that's what I love to feel in a black/death album. I would dare say it creates some Lovecraft madness feelings in me.

Great album this, it's so dark, heavy, and melodic, and I have no problem whatsoever with the guitar tone, I actually really like it, there's a real psychedelic sensation to it.I really like the echoing, menacing growls too.
