Nice idea for a concept album. I'm to see a bunch of loved bands here. But the subpar modern prod kills the magic for most of the songs. They are old and I can't claim the sound quality is good either, but at least they are bouncy, heavy, and have a vibe. While this is just flat and generic.

Just try to compare both versions of My Angel.

starts with heavy saturated palmute, modern heavy sound (and flat)
drums come in, the kick feels weak but at leats the groove sets in
"I knew yes I guess!" the guitars play open chords but from a dynamic perspective the volume stays the same as the previous part
"there's a loving in the back of my car" vocals completely crushed by a compressor
chorus : supposedly the guitars only play some chords then mute for dynamics, but here the volume is still loud due to all the reverb of the drums
0:57 they added a tambourine is the version too, but it's just some high frequencies battling with the cymbals. Kick where are you?

of course it sounds old, but the guitar here (or even bass maybe) souds super crunchy
then you've got to hear a backing guitar far away in the room, which participates more to the harmony
drums come in. Incredible balance with the drums being so big. The kick actually knocks your head
Some reverb effects here and there, just to play with your hears
Vocals come in, her voice is darker and fuller, so when she yells it has more constrast
Vocals have slapback reverb, so obviously the spatial imagery is completely different

It ends on a reverbed snare hit for even more impact
"there's a loving in the back of my car" powerfull yell, then constrasted by smoother vocals on the next line. She's actually using different voices for dynamic effect
chorus : here the guitars mute instatntly, and there's no tail on the snare which is very dark. Bass is also more define. So the "tada! *mute* tada! *mute*..." works better
The tambourine is pretty much audible and works with the kick to give a super groove and enthrall you into clapping your hands

Marta sings well and succeeds at all the songs, but technically she's more in some vocals constriction, applying a lot of pressure and using fry a lot. So it doesn't really sounds as shouts or powerful screams, which is problem when you try to cover women with actual pipes like Leather Leone, Zed Yago, Doro or the girl from Rock Goddess

When I was young man, in my early 20's if i listen cover album or song I did listen original after I had much more time then. Maybe I need do now, well I cant judge even I know all origional songs. Somehow I think guitar works are a bit heavier and her vocals are stronger .
