The artwork for this album reminds me of classic Sci-Fi book covers, which is awesome!

I heard this is going to be their most melodic album yet, I can't wait!

Obscura is probably the best tech death band atm, although those crazy Quebecians (sp?) are giving them a run for their money.

Quebecians (sp?)
they mostly refer to themselves as Québécois while the rest of us Canadians call them Quebecers but I think we need to start a petition to adopt Quebecians as the official denomination.

I loved their previous album and its "darker" feel/direction and I was kinda hoping they would build on that. Then I listened to the singles, I was kinda disappointed and eventually the whole album is on the same tune.
Way too "happy riff wankery" for my taste.

Yeah, I listened to Diluvium dozens of times. I’ve listened to this album three times and it just isn’t clicking with me.
I totally respect their desire to try new things. I really enjoy melodic death as well, so I would have thought melodic tech death Obscura would be a no-brainer. The songs just aren’t grabbing me though. Maybe I’ll try again in a few weeks when I’m in a different mood.

On the contrary, in China, people generally don't like it very much, they think the production and mix is very average, people want the previous technology progressive instead of the technical melody, a little cliched, in my own opinion, it is also very average.

Tech death aoty for me, although complex it has great melodies, and the bass is fantastic.

It's a really well played album, but nothing really grabs my attention. Devoured usurper will have to be my favourite song here I suppose.
