Sometimes you just have to give up and say 'this isn't for me'.

"Vortex" was amazing.
Hope the rest of the songs live up to it.

The songs are good, separately listened to (maybe that's why my expectations from the singles were way too high). They don't work together to make an album, I felt a screaming lack of connection between them and I'm not talking about mixing issues, it's like they have piled up a lot of outtakes from the other albums and smashed them together to make a sandwich of different sound layers, but when you pick it up, it falls apart.

Made of Metal
Jinjer got famous with their more proggy, slower tracks like Pisces and Judgment & Punishment so it wouldn't have shocked me if they decided to push into the mainstream with more songs in that vein... Instead, I WAS shocked to hear that instead they said screw the mainstream and made a heavier and faster album. The album lacks a lot of variation between the songs and I think that is its biggest downfall. I specifically remember an interview with Tatiana a few years back where she talked about Jinjer playing a bunch of difference styles. At the time, that was true, but on Wallflowers that just isn't. It's a fast metalcore album straight through for the most part and the few tracks which do break the mold are instantly recognizable. it's not an easy album to get into on the first few listens but the more I do, the more I enjoy it.
