So, I can't post Cradle of filths Cruelty and the beast remastered and remixed because it's a remix (and a true remix, not just some studio remix) and this boxset is possible ?!??! Lol, what a stupidity! Rules are only for certain bands...

Nope. The rules apply to every band and they are clear and simple: it must be a new recording or at least a partial re-recording (different singer, new drum tracks, whatever).
If some sound engineer pushes some buttons in the absence of the band so that the same old album can be sold again as a "true remix but not just some studio remix" (what does that even mean?), then it's simply not a re-recording.

You've already noticed it yourself: it's a boxset.
Or do you want us to delete each demo, each single, each EP, each compilation, each DVD and each boxset just because you can't have a Cradle Of Filth re-release here?
Even Cradle know very well what it is, that's why they call it Re-Mistressed.

By the way, this is the wrong thread.

I said I don't care, just you are contradicting yourself

Now tell me clearly, where is a boxset a new or partial re-recording or even different band members, even new songs????

You can't, cause it isn't. So I just keep what I said.

Also , cruelty re-mistressed has a new album cover and a new track that it isn't on the original. But I'll say again, rules are rules and I will respect it but don't necessarily need to agree on them, specially in cases like this.

Just look at his - https://metalstorm.net/bands/album.php?album_id=26442&band_id=&bandname=Cynic and this https://metalstorm.net/bands/album.php?album_id=103499&band_id=&bandname=Cynic

Oh so, the cover changed and the bass was re-recorded. No new songs, yet, still ok.

Over and out

This information has been clearly stated on the 'Add album' page since time immemorial:

>What can be added
- Only official album releases are accepted, no bootlegs.
- Only releases with a title and full release date are accepted (working title is OK too).
- TBA albums are not allowed !!! (read HERE)
- We also don't feature re-releases or remasters - however, we do feature re-recordings. Any and all info regarding re-releases and remasters is to be added to the "Additional info" field of the original album. Leaving a comment with reasons for adding/modifying album information (and providing an official source) greatly increases the chance of your edit being accepted by the Staff.

Now, the add album feature provides the opportunity to add 'Compilation' and 'Boxset'. Compilations, such as Greatest Hits albums, do not generally feature re-recordings of songs; however, they are clearly very different products to regular albums. It would be hard to say that the Guns N' Roses Greatest Hits was the same product as any of their studio albums, since it only features at most 3 songs from any one album. Just as a compilation album is a compilation of songs, box sets are typically compilations of albums, such as is the case here. The tags that are applied to these releases make it pretty clear what these products are. Crucially, the box set should be a clearly distinguished product in terms of its contents to one that is already out there, hence why this 4-album box set from Septicflesh is listed in the database, but a limited edition box set release of the album Communion, which is already in the database, is not. There is a reason why 'Additional info' exists on album pages, it is so people can add additional information about an album, such as 'the album was re-released in a limited edition in XXXX with Y features', or 'the album was remixed/remastered in XXXX under the name YYYYYYY'. Hell, if the remaster features a new bonus track, it can be added to the track list as "BLAAAAH [XXXX bonus]'.

It's honestly not that complicated, or worthy of conspiracy. If Cradle Of Filth release a multi-album career-spanning box set, that can be added to the database, much like the box set we are having this discussion under has been. If Cradle Of Filth decide to do a re-recording of Dusk And Her Embrace, it can be uploaded as a new album entry, much in the same way that Exodus - Let There Be Blood has its own page. If Cradle Of Filth decide to remix/remaster an album, that can be added to that album's page in the database, much in the same way that Exodus - Bonded By Blood mentions in Additional info that "'Bonded by Blood' remastered, limited silver edition also released in 2008 by Century Media with bonus live tracks"; hell, the Bonded By Blood page even mentions the bonus live tracks in the track list as '[Live in London] [Century Media reissues bonus]'. I wonder, when claiming that 'Rules are only for certain bands... ', do you think that the grand conspiracy to support Septicflesh and undermine Cradle Of Filth would consider Exodus to be an ally or enemy in said conspiracy? Or can you accept that there isn't a grand conspiracy in this situation.

As far as Traced In Air is concerned, I don't think it needs its own page, but as Zap has commented in the album thread, it involved re-recording of bass tracks, so it has been accepted due to being a partial re-recording. To be honest, I would say that's information that could be added as Additional info to the original Traced In Air page, but someone involved in database curation has decided that partial re-recording is sufficient for its own page, so as someone not involved in database management, I'll leave that decision to them.

Massive thanks to Starvynth and musclassia for having the patience of Job and for their willingness to explain the obvious. The information for everything any user needs is already here on this website, some people just need to read a little before they start ranting. The FAQ Section provides answers to 99% of the questions any user may have.

I take it that this is the end of this discussion, which shouldn't have started here in the first place.

So anyways, this boxset includes SF's best three albums as far as I'm concerned.

I'm torn between the two, I like their first three, Sumerian Daemons and Communion pretty much equally.

Which albums specifically? I guess from the first four my favourites would be A Fallen Temple and Mystic Places, but it's been a while since I listened to them.

I'll have to revisit them. I don't often listen to SF anymore, but when I do it's usually for the (sometimes overly) bombastic orchestral stuff. The Great Mass is great for that.
