After a first listen, i think its fantastic for a band who's around for over 40 years

If not that stupid ugly album, this would be a killer album. Ity is good music, it has rock nm roll, keyboard parts, it has prog rocks, prog metal, rock even heavier parts ...in a days as old days when you jammed. Each song has different song writing structure.

I don't understand the hype around Magnum. The albums since they reunited in the early 2000s leave me cold, very bland and predictable IMO. I do listen to old Magnum sometimes, but not the later day work. And I have tried...

I disagree, I enjoy a few old bands, like Rush, Kansas, Glenn Hughes, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, UFO, Toto, and a few other prog veterans.

After three listens I enjoy it but can't say i'm that impressed. The Tony Clarkin signature writing is there but it feels like you heard all this too many times before and it gets a bit boring after while. Maybe my expectations was also set a bit too high since the three albums before this were all fantastic. Oh well... Tony is now 75 and Bob 74, let's see if there's one more album still to come

I'm not really into Magnum, but this album is not bad, a wee bit ballad ish for me, but the songwriting itself is decent enough, it's softer rock than what I usually listen to nowadays, but it makes a change I guess.

Progressive Rock??? AOR / Hard Rock!!!

This is exactly what I was thinking all day while going through their entire disco. First couple of albums are sort of prog rock. The rest is AOR or hard rock, indeed.
