Well, probably the most melodic thing Evergrey has ever released. Not many progressive elements in here, but still - love it. More than "Escape of the Phoenix". And "Wildfires" is f..... beautiful

Another really great album. Not as great as Escape Of The Phoenix & The Atlantic, but I'll be vibing to this for months to come

Tom Englund is one of those singers that can read a pizza menu to you and make you emotional. Great album as expected!

This band can write albums, but this is not their best, vocals are softer as in olders and maybe softest albums. It wotks if you listen it from a-z few times, as whole album in old days, then it works fine.

The over-production on Tom's vocals almost ruins this for me. He has a great voice, why so many effects? It feels robotic at times and completely kills the emotion. I'm really not a fan of the overall approach in production, guitars also suffer at times and everything's way too compressed. That being said, the compositions are top-notch as usual. I just wish it sounded more organic.

It's a solid album, with stunning melodies, and very impressive song structures. There's some great synth work, aswel as some excellent guitarwork and solo's too, the vocals are a bit little soft, but they still have alot of emotion.

Based on your post, I'm thinking you're new to Evergey. The vocals are one of the reasons to try and listen to the band, I'm picky when it comes to vocals, if the vocals were meh, I would not even listen to this band, bad vocals can often ruin otherwise great instrumentation.

Your right I'm fairly new to this band, I've heard some of their stuff in the past, but I never got round to listening to any of their albums in full until now. I didn't think that much to the vocals at first, but now I quite like them, I'm more impressed by the music though. I will need to have a good listen to more of their stuff.

Nice album with some fantastic songs, eg. Save Us, Ominous, Call Out The Dark or Reawakening:)

On par with the last few albums I'd say, they've really hit their stride lately! I'd say the album is a bit more mellow and more melodic than Phoenix but otherwise its very much in the same vein as that album.

Highlights: Midwinter Calls, Call Out The Dark, Heartless, Blindfolded

'The Storm Within' was the last one which felt fantastic but since then i am getting tired with their same melodies which are becoming more softer album after album. This album is just ok for me.

They are sort of doing the same album consistently, but the album itself is so good that I don't have much to complain.

Give it another chance/listen see what happens - will your rating stay the same or it will change (higher or lower).

What? A band with a 20+ year career playing my favourite style of music? Christmas came early.

Stellar record, everything Evergrey been doing is done the right way here. I was impressed with Escape of the Phoenix but this is even better.
