What can I say, its hard to label this and classify. It has cool, good riffs, good vocal parts, interesting concept, but then again this band has much better albums, and so many albums that I already start to forgot last 10.

It's ok. It's highly predictable, and the lyrics are beyond all that's cheesy. The vocals sound incredibly high in the mix though, so the production emphasises on those cheesy lyrics more.

It has some epic style structures which are pretty cool, and decent guitar work with very catchy melodies, all of which is totally as expected though. Catchiness isn't going to save it this time though unfortunately, it's enjoyable at first but as usual the enjoyment quickly wears off. It doesn't help the fact that the Holy Crusade theme has been done countless times before by so many different bands.

I would say quality wise this is on par with Sabaton's earlier release this year, so it's not all that bad.

Some of the instrument work on certain songs are actually alright, for me it's the vocals and shocking lyrics which let it down big time.

I agree about the vocals. I never liked the vocals in GD. Ruin an otherwise decent heavy metal.

Pretty predictable record for GD, quite boring too imo. Overall, I have a "meh feeling" about this record, with some tracks making a bigger nosedive than just being average in terms of quality. Last Crusade has been mentioned here already and that's indeed the biggest culprit.

Dislike the production as well on this one. Never been a big fan of GD's productions in general, but at least their earlier productions had a bit of a raw edge to them. This is just bland power metal/heavy metal sound production, of which there are a dime a dozen in existence. Only this one sounds for some reason quite muffled.

Not a terrible album overall, just quite dull in general if you ask me.

But... How could people give a better vote to Fields Of Blood than this?
SoE is clearly superior... The sound of this on is awful
