Comeback albums generally get a lot of attention because listeners are so starved for new material from a band, that the mere concept of a new album from said band can feel surreal. The real challenge is following up a comeback album to show that you're here to stay beyond the mere appeal of having returned. Phlebotomized are here to stay.

This is even better than Deformation Of Humanity, which was a great comeback album itself. And the cover art is infinitely better. I am very positively surprised, I expected something good, but not this good.

It's pretty decent, just don't go into it expecting Immense Intense Suspense or Skycontact. On Clouds Of Confusion they completely change their style from avant/prog symphonic death metal to more grounded and streamlined melodic death metal. Symphonic elements are still there, although much more subdued.

This has some wonderful moments. It has an excellent flow, some great songwriting and very impressive instrumentation. Exceeded my expectations I must say. Great album cover too.

Cool songwriting, maybe a tad long in the tooth. The vocals are also not my favorite.
