I'm knocking this down a few marks for not including a cover of "Cult Of Personality".

The Age of Blandchapel is over. The Time of Whitechapel has come back.

I haven't listened to Whitechapel since The Valley, but the first two singles from this are pretty heavy! Might give the whole thing a listen when it comes out.

I’m way more excited about this than I ever thought I would be for a Whitechapel release, but their last two albums were killer. Here’s hoping they maintain that momentum.

Super solid record from front to back. Would have loved some kind of incorporation of Phil's clean vocals, but it was nice to hear the band revisit their earlier sound and hear Phil go nuts with his highs again. Really pleased overall.

Fantastic album, a great showcase of everything so far. While I loved the "litechapel" era, I'm definitely partial to their old school brutality. 🤘

Even though I'm not a massive deathcore fan this is one of the few band's in the genre I can appreciate. This is so much better than I anticipated, I mean, heavy ain't even the word I'd use to describe this sound, it's truly something else. I know it's still early days but I think it will take something extra special in deathcore this year to top this.

Though some songs have really good melodies and riffs on this album, I still find Kin and The Valley had so many better songs.

Like Andy, not a deathcore fan, but this is some really heavy stuff. The guitars are huge, the drums are pummeling, and the vocalist is insane. "Diabolic Slumber" and "The Abysmal Gospel" just slay.

I was hoping they'd continue on that trajectory to new and interesting territories, but this sounds like they wrote heavier songs for the sake of of writing heavier songs; a regression to my ears. Sure it's well-written, but it's far too predictable. If I want heavy Whitechapel I'll stick to their self-titled.

The only standout track is "Mammoth God" which features some solid melodic and groove work (and it sounds more in the vein of their last two albums which is probably the reason why I'm more drawn to it). The closer is decent too, but still lacks memorability.

A good album at the end of the day, I'm just terribly disappointed.

Was understandably apprehensive when there were mentions of this going back to their simpler sound instead of continuing the great thing they got going on now, but this is so unfathomably heavy I don’t even mind the change in sound.

Sounds like a more brutal version of their self titled; makes a lot of recently released death metal albums sound like soft rock.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Song writing and performance is great, but once again a modern core album is letdown by vapid sterile production. I want some noise and grit in an album like this. Hymns In Dissonance is a great track.

This is good but I don’t find it that good like most seem to. It’s got some really nice riffs and it’s brutal for sure but I guess after the hype this album has gotten I was expecting a little bit more. It’s back to their roots which is cool and it’s pretty good as far as Deathcore goes but that’s about it.

I've not really dived into their early albums, but this might edge out their recent couple for the Whitechapel album I've enjoyed the most - I really dig the heaviness
