Whoa, whoa, whoa...

Let’s not drag Architects into, uh, whatever this is. They already catch enough heat around here without having to take the blame for Machine Head’s identity crisis too.

Especially considering they’re not even melodic metalcore. Just regular metalcore.

Personally I would rather listen to Architects at their worst than whatever this poppycock is.

Rob spent the last three years listening Sleep Token. It's not as bad as I was thinking it was going to be though, it's just pretty corny. His clean vocals are good in some sections.

I expected it to be worse, although it's true that I had very low expectations after reading several reviews. In the end if you take away the intro, the interlude and the horrendous Bonescraper and Outsider you are left with a 30 minute listenable album jejeje.

Bad English

I dont like this Ö think , might be trilogy? Anyway I knew band like many years ago, but not listen much, just catch album by album. This is old school jamming band seems to me, otherwise seems they do more clean and calm vocals. Even I like it but Nu, Alternative metal parts are here strongly.

Man this album is gonna be disliked by many and loved by many, what a divisive release! When not expecting this album to fit into any kind of pre-imagined box I enjoyed it a lot. It's not the heaviest album out there and not even the heaviest album they have made but the clean and sometimes poppy parts mixed with the groovy riffs surprisingly worked really well for me. The cringey lyrics are still present but at least less prevalent than some of their other albums. I really liked the guitar tone (shades of their best years), guitar solos, and overall atmosphere. Also catchy in a way that you would benefit from repeated listens so you crave the hooks you know are coming. When I'm in the mood for a melodic and nostalgic album that's easy to listen to I can see myself coming back to this.

It's sø mediøcøre, but for an album that plays in the background when I'm doing some absorbing activity, it's perfect. You don't work in silence, but you don't lose too much of the music either. And for that 6.

100% agree. It's a shame a band that I used to love so much has become this mediocre, but as background music it's not bad.

"Atomic" is the only song that's not dripping in cheesy ooze. A little overdone at this point, but it's a good track. The rest of the album is somewhere between passable and an an exercise of mass-pleasing. Most songs do have something to work with, but all are ruined one way or another.

Some songs are generally not that bad but some are just terrible. Not something I'll be wanting to invest my time in again, that's for sure.

The biggest downsides of the album are:
1. the lack of aggression in the songs
2. Flynn's melancholic singing

If Rob would have roared instead of wailed on these numbers, if there had been more guitar-driven rocking, then this would have been a really nice album. And so the best guitar parts are in 'These Scars Wøn't Define Us' in the stanzas (in my opinion).

Unless it was meant to be a counter album to 'Øf Kingdøm And Crøwn'. In which case I don't know why.

Seeing the reactions here and knowing that the band had Catharsis in their locker recently, I was expecting something legitimately crap. This isn't calamitous in the same way; however, it's also an album that I struggle to see what someone would get much more than passing enjoyment out of - it's a really unappealing blend of arena cheese with Machine Head-on-autopilot writing, occasionally with a nice moment (the sad guitar melody before the final chorus of "Nøt Løng Før This Wørld" did capture my attention a bit) but also dragged down by inconsistent and frequently iffy singing from Robb Flynn (hitting some bum notes in a few songs).

For your wishful thinking to come true, the next 60 users would all have to give a 1/10. That has never happened in the history of Metal Storm, and if you look at the current distribution of ratings, it simply isn’t going to happen.
What you're predicting is virtually impossible according to the rules of probability and goes against all logical reasoning. Please think things through a bit before posting such nonsense.

Listened to two songs because I wanted to see what all the hate was about and I gotta say I can’t imagine something as inoffensive as this landing in the bottom 20. It’s not really good but it’s not terrible either.
