Kardashev turned an awful lot of heads, including my own, with their 2022 release Liminal Rite, an awe-inspiring demonstration of their self-labeled ‘deathgaze’ sound. As such, it appears to be a bold move, at least on the surface, to follow that record with an album that instead serves as a conceptual sequel to an earlier entry into the band’s discography; however, ‘bold’ seems like a generally apt descriptor of Kardashev’s artistic ambitions to date.

Stoked for this, I quite like the new single, Reunion. This band really grew on me but it did take a while

There’s something I really dislike about the art but I can’t put my finger on it. First single is really good though, stoked for this one

Their first album was on my daily spin for a long time, so I am quite excited after listening to the new single.

Great band! Unique musicians! Just a little bit of song structure missing here and there. Performance 10, structure 7, ideas 7, vocals 10. I'm glad you guys are here. You're great with your musical experiments. 8/10

A bit of a let down off the heels of Liminal Rite. The structure and atmosphere is all too similar, weaving crushing deathcore sounds with beautiful and harsh male vocals. It becomes formulaic to the point of boredom. New fans will dig it, but I would urge them to check out Liminal Rite to see what this band can REALLY do.

I like it but I don’t love it. It certainly occupies a unique space among the world of Deathcore and DM but it’s like the different elements aren’t meshing as well on this one. Also, as much as they refer to themselves as Deathgaze I really didn’t feel like the Shoegaze was that prevalent here. Gonna give it a few more spins because I liked Liminal Rite so much so maybe my opinion will change.

It's quite a unique approach as I can't precisely pinpoint their style, and a solid album for sure, but I just prefer their previous album.

Huge step down from their previous release. Great performance, but everything else sounds uninspired, and I don't think this is the kind of album that will grow on me either.

Why are they trying so hard to be Fallujah here? Huge mistake. They had something going with the last album after that messy debut.
