I usually don’t comment on power metal, since the traits that define the genre, at least in its European form, are pretty much the same things that turned me off most traditional styles of metal long ago. But I’ve got to admit, this one caught me off guard in a good way: a touch of Warlord, echoes of the first four Manowar albums, and a pinch of early (but slower) Helloween, all paired with a genuinely good vocalist who surely could sing much higher if he wanted to, but thankfully refrains from using his falsetto. Some of the most epic passages gave me Atlantean Kodex or even Solstice vibes, though stylistically it’s still a fair bit removed from doom.
I'm pleasantly surprised.

After reading your comment on this album I had to give it a listen, and I must say, I'm not at all disappointed. This is some great epic heavy/power metal with exceptional vocals, just my kinda thing

Glad you enjoyed it! I guess we both have to thank Languedocian for discovering and suggesting this band.

Happy that you guys are enjoying this one! Took me by surprise and, Starvynth, you have really captured my own thoughts above as well. The direction of the vocals allows for a lot of emotion I don't often feel with power metal, and really gives the feeling that we are hearing the fall or lament of an empire, rather than its triumph.

Not sure I get much power metal from this to be honest (maybe some of the vocal melodies? and a couple slightly more up-tempo ones like Crimson Seas Of Courage, although that sounds more folk metal to me), it feels much closer to the epic heavy metal genre tag - but I do enjoy it, it does have a certain gravitas courtesy of the lamenting vocals, and solid riffs too
