Metal Rasputin

Easily the weakest album Saxon has ever done, mildly entertaining at best. By this time the cheesy charm of Innocence had already worn off and the whole pop metal thing was running out of steam fast. Good thing they went back to their roots.

I like this one for some reason, up to this point I find it to be one of the more coherent Saxon records and it's jam packed with delight hooks and every song has a own charm. It's not a excellent record though as it's comes out a bit lightweight in repeated listens but still for those who like AOR I think it is a no brainer. I however, and probably every one else, think it was a good idea for Saxon from the next album and ownard to focus fully on hard rock and heavy metal.
