Can anyone really describe why metalheads are so obsessed with metalcore when it's a sub genre basically combined with hard rock and punk elements? I know I cannot and I bet neither can you. "The Air That I Breathe" is a powerful song. Catchy guitar riffs and the lyrics are a creed to live by.

I think this is the staple metalcore album. For a genre so wrought with filth, to have a gem like this outstanding is almost unheard of. Very few bands in the genre can compete, August Burns Red and Between The Buried And Me to name a few.

I don't understand how this album is relatively well regarded, sounds like generic metalcore to me, and I don't hate the genre or anything. Protest the Hero, BTBAM, Dillinger, and All Shall Perish's "The Price of Existence" are much better examples of this genre imo

I definitely don't think it's the best of the standard metalcore albums, but it's a solid entry imo, and given the quality of much of their discog, it stands out more I think.
