Listened to a Hercules album (the new one). Wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Definitly needs a better singer, though. Parts of it made me think of a lower grade Isengarde playing power metal.
I literally have my own private access to a surf break so I would never get anything done working from home, in fact I had the dy off the other day to do some renovation and spent half of the day surfing

Ugh, almost 5 years old and not one comment? I blame myself, I think this is one of the best post/atmo albums ever made. Pop the top on a beer, kick back in the recliner and dim the lights. Press play on this masterpiece and afterwards say "thank you Teamster!"
Written by Susan on 14.01.2012 at 20:49 My first Rosetta album And definitely one that helped me explore my love of post-metal and atmosphere in general.
Unfortunately my experience was the same... only just about every other album didn't compare to this so I was left with a sour taste in my mouth.
At least there's still a few albums I can listen to: this, Cult of Luna's Somewhere Along the Highway... and... well, that's it I guess. :/

Yea Troy we have had this discussion before. Check out my top 25 list, it might have some post/sludge/atmo you could dig!
Edit: I see you have already...Mouth of the Arcitect, Irreversible and Arktika put out some impressive stuff!
Fun fact: The climax of the song Monument contains six separate guitar tracks played through four different amps.
fun fact part II: The recently started playing Monument live! They had said before it was too hard to play because of all the multi-layered guitars and samples...

I have seen that one live video of it on youtube they pulled it off pretty well for only one guitar. Didn't go to see them when they were just here, regretting it already .
This is still the only album of theirs I really enjoy but it remains on my list of all-time favorites. Immense in every sense of the word. Fantastic release.

I still feel as if I should listen to more, I dismissed the band too fast in the past and I want to redeem myself. I have no idea what to start with. Any suggestions?

The 3-part "Lift" song is the best music I have ever heard. I'm not lying...over-exaggerating ...drunk...whatever you want to call me. Seriously, it is.

Haha, yeah I listened to this one, I noticed how good it was. I asked if any of you could suggest another album to listen to. But if you're too drunk to deliver, I'll pick blindly .

I meant something from Rosetta's catalogue, but I'm going to go with GaGalean Satellites as already advised.
I have to second Jay's recommendation of the band Blindead.
Otherwise, the Galilean Satellites is great. I'm also a big fan of The Anaesthete album, which is a little more conventional and less adventurous but really well organized (ie. similar #s of hard/soft songs).

Duly noted. Anaesthits and Blinded will be checked out. Thanks again.
I've never really thought highly of this album tbh, for me it's just pretty decent post-metal but nothing particularly memorable or mind-blowing, aside from the final track that is, which I find has the albums most captivating moments.
