Nice album. Tight sound and memorable time changes. Anyone else think this album/band is underrated? Favorite song is "Watch the Children Pray".

Totally underrated. This album is great, thrashy enough and also of course Watch The Children Pray is a masterpiece.
I dont think they are underrated, in fact overrated. Only 2 tracks are good, others are fillers. This album bored me a lot when i was a teenager.

I'm generally not into this era and style of music but this album is fantastic, no doubt about it.

Notice that little "8" symbol next to my comment? About that fantastic. And you can add a 0.5 to it an' all.

My classmates passing around this album on those days...almost everyone in the class has listened to this album...since then, no one ever talked about Metal Church anymore...until I left the school. Ha Ha...what a boring band.

Not as good as the debut but I'd give this a solid marks just for Watch the Children Pray alone. What a song.

Totally agreed. That is the only highlight on this album.

This was the first Metal Church album I ever heard, and maybe that's the reason I have such a soft spot for it in my heart. I even bought the CD just when I had broken up with my then-girlfriend, so it has helped me through a lot.
"Watch the Children Pray" is the true highlight here, amazing epic song. "Method To Your Madness" was the very first song I heard from this album and immediately liked it, though it doesn't give the right picture of the band's sound and style at all. If I had ever started wrestling, "Start The Fire" would have been my entrance song. The title song has goofy-sounding chorus, but the solo is awesome.
Always amused me how it seemed like some half of the songs here are about some ships. Take "Start the Fire" and "Bruial at Sea" for example.

Watch The Children Pray is the only memorable song on this album.
The debut and the follow up (Blessing In Disguise) are both way better.

A blink of an eye
A dream for the blind
Visions from a dying brain
I hope you don't understand

Super awesome heavy/thrash if there ever was such. I'm not gonna go into great detail on why this album kicks so many asses as it's easier point out the negative; I don't particularly like the bass heavy production, especially the drum sound, and that's it pretty much, everything else is done ably. The best thing here definitely is David Wayne's vocals that remind of the great Jon Oliva's voice.
As mentioned here multiple times; Watch the Children Pray is indeed the most impressive song, but we should keep in mind that the other songs aren't of this same style and it's pointless to expect them to be similar when it's clear that the faster and more straightforward songs are brilliant as well when viewed from a different standpoint. I'm gonna say that the album is as good as the debut for now.

Weaker than previous album, still good through, especially the first half. 7.5/10
