Just thought I'd share some information on the album, that fans might find cool.
Here is a snippet from an online interview
Full interview can be seen here: http://www.cackblabbath.co.uk/2011/02/07/woods-of-ypres-interview-with-david-ypres/
Woods 4 is "The Green Album", why green ?
"Many reasons. Here's four: Firstly, W4 was the first album to feature the Philadelphia brothers Evan Madden on drums and Shane Madden on bass, otherwise known from the metal act THE GREEN EVENING REQUIEM. Second, we were in a low and slow TYPE O NEGATIVE doom-like mood when creating this album, TYPE O, of whom the colour green was a constant trademark and who have obviously been a big influence on us. Third, we were green with efficiency, writing and recording a straightforward, stripped down album in a very short time. Lastly, her last name was Green, I was completely obsessed and this was the only album I knew how to make at the time. Any other title would not have been as true. Green is the heaviest word I know."
Also... check out the second time he sings the chorus in I Was Buried In Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
First time:
"I was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, alone and unceremoniously"
Whereas the second time he put a quirky detail I would not have noticed hadn't it been for the booklet.
"When I was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, alone and un-Sarah-moniously"
Now.... We have a first name and a last name: Sarah Green
If you look into the lineup on Woods II, you'll see that she actually did session vocals.

I haven't heard this by the way. I might check it out at some point.

this one recycles the BAD riffs and melodies whereas the bands I like lik recycle the good riffs and mellodiues and WoY isn;t really recycling it thgey re totally ripping it it off

Ah typical justifications based on taste Marcel. Not what I call being critical, more like the pot calling the kettle black. Clones and rip offs are the same regardless of genre or taste ;]

you really don't get io do you?
Ripping off discarded stuff the originals didn't want to use (as is the case here) is much worse than ripping off/copying the good stuff bands releasesd.
Sleep tight you who thinks that bringing a woman in to a derivative sludge band s voalicat and also as playing some instruments is being totally original

Nope, you can't rip-off what was never released, you can only emulate, which includes an element of creativity. You're just blind as usual thinking clones of band you like automatically make them good and popular stuff like this is instantly rubbish because you choose not to like it and throw silly personal justifications at it.
Good night, sleep tight thinking about stuff like Pilgrim who so desperately want to be a 20 year old doom band they're happy to rip-off the music and the image of any band that came before them.
Calling bands like SubRosa derivative is hilarious and hypocritical considering your taste in doom and death metal. By your own description you should love them seeing as you only like derivative music
Endlessly prattling on about bands you don't like who have a similar sound to other bands when your entire taste is based on old, derivative clones and wannabes is pure irony!

Not out yet. No idea when it will be released. As far as I know they haven't even recorded anything for it yet.

I really hate Dave's cleans on this album as well as the lyrics, especially in the final track. My least favorite of the WoY catalogue

I just love the song "I was buried in Mount Pleasant cemetery", it's amazing! The rest of the album wasn't anything to write home about, but not horrible.

This album is too long, an issue with most WoY releases, but there is hardly a song worth skipping. This could have been two separate albums IMO. Even writing this comment I'm trying to pick a few highlights, but there are so many good songs. "Wet Leather" is an upbeat self hating anthem, "Mirror Reflection" is a brilliant mix of doom and melodic black metal, as is "Natural Technologies". I really love the more Gothic oriented tracks like "Everything I Touch" too.
David's clean vocals and WOAHOOOOOHHOHOHHH interjections can become a little overbearing, and corny even if you're not in the right mind state, but If you remember the true passion he put into these songs, it takes the cringe edge off a bit. "To Long Life (In The Limbo Union)" is a great example of this, a passionate hate speech about his time as substitute teacher (It looks like we have this track incorrectly named here). If you manage to play through the full album, you can hear a ton of influence from other prominent bands, Type O Negative, Crowbar, other Gothic bands, all blended together in, what I think at least, is perfect harmony.
A really good release IMO. The follow up album is also wonderful. A good revisit for me after several years.
