First Rage album with a proper production. Mannis guitar tone is real sweet here. A bit more oriented to the power metal genre with a bit more variation to the songs compared to the previous albums. This was their best album up to this point in time. Even if the lineup had existed for a time now, I think this is were they seemed to find each other for real.

Best songs? Waiting for the Moon is a killer song with a smashing opening riff. That's Human Boandage and True Face in Everyone also delivers, great guitar riffs. Dust is a anthem like song that most likely worked great live. The last song Wild Seed is a great speed metal tune with a nice solo.

Yes, indeed. This is quite a good album. Going through the tracklist I recall a lot of songs here, many more than on Perfect Man. Although with both albums last time I spun them must have been 15 years ago, or even 20.
I guess I should reconsider my rating. Reflections is probably close to an 8, whereas Perfect Man is rather a 6 (with the exeption of Dont fear the winter).

Yeah, not that sure about that any more -- needs a relisten for me, I guess (though I am afraid that wont happen very soon, since I have quite lost interest in their music nowadays, which is probably mostly due to the direction they turned to some years ago). I recall that somehow i had Saddle the wind (there must be a typo in that track's name) standing out, too. But the ones you mention are also good, if I recall correctly.

Here I disagree. I prefer Secrets--the predecessor-- to this one. Even Execution is a bit superior to Reflections imo, though certainly more raw sound and inferior production.

For me they are pretty close to each other. I think Reflections overall is a bit more solid and memorable but after listening to Secrets twice last week I really enjoyed most of it (especially two of the three bonus tracks which I hadn't heard before). Reflections has a bit of a nostalgia factor since it was one of the first Rage albums I got hold of in the early 2000.

Doing at the moment a Rage discography run since I noticed all their albums are on spotify, which make it easier not having to find all my cds and vinyls of them. And i'm really impressed how well most of their albums are holding up so far.

Indeed they have several great albums in their disco.
My favourite probably is The Missing Link.
I used to spin Trapped heavily, back at the time, but not sure how well it is holding up today for me.
Black in mind is already a long way up to their more developed, less raw sound. But I also liked this one a lot.
Lingua mortis is worth a listen, beautiful arrangements.
Then with End of all days it is slowly going downhill.
Everything thereafter I havent spun much. Dont recall anything of particular interest for me there.

I enjoy their entire discography. Some of their post Speak of the Dead albums i'm not that familiar with so they will be quite new for me during this run. I look forward to listen to Black In Mind and End of All Days as both of these were huge favourites for me back in the days. The Missing Link was also a favourite so let's see how it sounds today.

Let me know which ones finally turn out to be your favourite Rage albums, once you are through with your tour.
I am curious.

BTW -- which is that I am spinning some old Rage songs occasionally in this very moment -- I am still waiting for your response as to which one turned out to be your favourite Rage album.

There you go, published that one nearly a year ago and as I now look through the list I don't think I would change the order of the albums so I would say the list still stand as it is. Need to add the latest there though, only listened to it once so need to give it some more spins.
