Deadwing is a shivering experience that will immediately combine all kind of emotions in both the atmosphere and in your mind; the minute you push play in your stereo you'll start feeling thrilled, excited, angry, stunned, besieged, and mostly any sensation the human can experience will appear instantly no doubt.

My favourite album by them for definite. This album has everything-melody, dark atmosphere, and the album cover just gets your imagination going...

Great album.

After having the album just collecting dust for almost half a year (I'm not kidding) I checked it out yesterday and I've been listening to it during my trip from and to the Uni.
Very nice album indeed... Favorite tracks were definitely the first 3 + Arriving Somewhere But Not Here... But overall great album although I actually preffer the other album I own and heard (Fear Of A Blank Planet) more than this one.

"Deadwing" and "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here" are two of my favorites, but I think the one that is most memorable to me is also "Mellotron Scratch". Really awesome song. It feels like he captured the feeling of longing for days gone by--a sadness for friendships and loves lost--in sonic form.

Anyway, not my favorite Porcupine Tree album. Actually, it's my least favorite out of the albums from In Absentia and onward, but it's still a great album.

My favourite Porcupine Tree record. It just flows steady from the beginning till the end, not a single filler song. I think that the balance between the heavy prog rock songs and mellow moments is also perfect. I can't name my favourite songs because I'd have to name all of the tracks of this album.

I can relate to the "all the tracks are great" part which is why I give this a perfect 10. Not so much as it being my favourite album because that would be In Absentia But Deadwing and In Absentia are very connected in terms of their sound. This is really the golden era of Porcupine Tree as I see it. To release Lightbulb Sun, In Absentia, Deadwing and Fear Of A Blank Planet back to back and all amazing albums, is quite something

I agree. Those are all brilliant records. Though, today I was re-listening The Incident, and I suddenly realized I wasn't doing that album justice for it's a very good album too.

I also love The Incident, even though it isn't as appreciated as the others. It's different though, it's a one track album and I think some parts are amazing but others are lacking. PT performed this live in full in Lisbon and it sounded great live too It isn't as perfect as the others though, for me.

But then again, I'm a PT fangirl, I have everything and enjoy almost everything ahah

Same here. I don't think it's becaue the other album are bad or something. But those two have aged incredibly well. Feel hella fresh to this day.
