After almost three years of wait after the release of Waterlines Excalionhave returned to improve on what I thought would be close to impossible to improve on and now I am happy I was wrong.
Waterlines was released back in 2007 and took the band to a new level. Now with the release of High Time the band made it clear that they haven't lost their touch.

Yawn...

Goodish vocals but severely boring guitars its all somewhat amateurish. Uninspiring drums and the rest of it we've all heard a million times. Seriously...how is this not completely generic?

I was a little embarrassed listening to this album, especially after telling my friends about how excited I was for the album after hearing how good Waterlines was. Excalion was one of the most exciting new bands I'd heard in a while, but then I heard High Time, which sorta ruined my hope for the band. First off, I felt the writing was kinda weak and uninspired. Not much in the way of solos, some catchy vocal parts here and there, but the guitar and drum parts were just weak to me. The production also kinda bothered me, because it felt like the drum and vocal parts were waaaaaaaay too high in the mix, while the guitar parts just felt like they were somewhere in the background.

As a big fan of Waterlines, I felt really disappointed by this.

This, exactly. This is precisely how I felt about this album when it came out - super hyped because Waterlines was so good, then super blown because the mixing is just so incredibly terrible on this one. Oh well
