Mekong Delta... An excellent, but definitively underrated band. Back in 1992, they had already released four albums, and even toured after the release of 'Dances Of Death'. They showed that they were able to play their technical stuff live (one of the critics they faced at the time). Each Mekong Delta album is different and showcases the progression of the band's technicality and Ralf Hubert's songwriting. Kaleidoscope is no exception.

Rather unique sound; I'm thínking of Voivod of Europe. Not their best record if I can remember correctly, yet it's pretty amazing in songwriting and has some really interesting guitar playing -- again like Voivod. I don't have any complains about it, I guess it just can be done even better.

I think this is their all around highest quality album, even if it's not my favorite. Innocent?, Heartbeat, the Sabre Dance rendition and the cover of Dance on a Volcano are the major highlights.
