Wow, where to start. Well, as a pretty big fan of this "thrash comeback" of sorts, I have to say that after my first listen, I was actually pretty impressed with this album. I love these guys' style of playing, and the way the vocals dance around a little with the music.

On to the details! I will agree with some of you and say that it definitely is not Feed The Beast, and when I heard about this album, and read the concept of it (a concept album based on Earth, 600 years in the future, that is occupied by an alien race called the Crong, and humanity's resistance of that occupation), I was a bit scared. To do a concept album for your second album is risky business, especially when you're part of this "thrash comeback"... the fans tend to be quite picky, and if it doesn't sound like something from 1987, they'll reject you. But I was not disappointed. I like to see a band that can maintain a few of the best things about their first album, showing that they truly do have their own style, and that they'll hold to it. Admirable.

Bonded by Blood, I am disappoint

guitars are too quiet, guitar production is horribly thin, songs aren't as fast or energetic

biggest disappointment for me so far this year

I think I'm going to be the only one out there who can't decide whether I like this or Feed the Beast. Feed The Beast was as awesome as uninhabited thrash gets, and well, this does the opposite, except for once, does it right. What I feel alot of bands do (especially thrash bands) do is release something which is the cealing of heavy so to say, then and after believing they can't go any further, try to be slower, heavier, and TRY to be more intelligent with there song writing, often times with disappointing results. This album, doesn't quite fail in that respect. Although this has perhaps some of the most intelligently written thrash I think I've heard (at least instrumentally) it also manages to stay fairly energetic and ferocious, at times surpassing some of there work off of FTB. I swear there are some parts which just seem to accelerate with each beat, even if it ISNT actually doing that.

Also Mauro is a great new addition to the band as a vocalist. He seems to retains Jose's singing style but is just so much more ferocious and almost beastly in his delivery without stepping outside of the confines of what the band is trying to do sound wise. Although I feel the album is hard to headbang to due to the constantly changing rhythms and new musical ideas which lead you on to thinking they will go somewhere, and then do something better or what you where not expecting. Seriously, I'm VERY impressed with these guys. I wonder where these talented young musicians willl go on to from here.

Where have you heard Mauro? Jose did vocals on both albums.

Woops. Didn't realize that HE did. Just went by the MS page but didn't realize they must've switched him out AFTER the album. I thought it was kind of weird that he sounded almost exactly like Jose. Well credit is where credit is due and Jose did a great job on vocals for all of the above mentioned reaspns.

This is definitely better than Feed the Beast or Extinguish the Weak. This album brought Bonded by Blood to a totally new level. Too bad that the line-up had to change after the release but I've high hopes for the new album. THRASH LIKE BACK IN '86!!
