The Unborn, the second full-length of Mors Principium Est, recorded at Listenable Records and known as the best melodeath album in 2005. Well, Mors Principium Est sounded so damn good in The Unborn it grabbed me at the first listen; undying riffs, very fast/good drumming, and prefect guitar harmonies come along with it. Without much ado, let's step in….

You can, but it will cost you about $40 or whatever that translates to into another currency.

I listened to "The Pure" back when it came out in 2005; I was a young lad of 11 and was completely blown away. Then somehow I forgot all about Mors Principium Est (something that has happened a few times with other bands like Katatonia Manegarm and Yob) But now thanks to Metalstorm I'm rediscovering my goddamn roots! Great album for those that love the genre!

Love the vocals and the guitars, rawer than some gothenburg classics (ie the jester race) but I think that adds to the appeal

Is it just me or the production in this album is (very) below average? I can barely hear the vocals, and I have the CD, not a low-quality download from getmetal.org

Really great gothenburg album, which is fun and unique at the same time. Lets see how the new one will sound.

I really do not dig this. I have tried multiple times, but it just doesn't klick with me. The sound is absolutely terrible and gives that whole album a synthetic feel that doesn't do the compositions any justice. And the female voice is probably the worst thing that ever happened. It just gives the music that absolutely cringeworthy gothic atmosphere everytime it breaks through. The guitar compositions are really technical and fun for the most part, though.

Fantastic album. Pretty much every song on this is great! Very consistent.

9.2/10 for me - 'Pure', 'The Harmony Remains' and 'Two Steps Away' are the standout songs, but you can't go wrong with any tracks on this.

Basically a perfect album in my book. Every song is a banger, it's melodic yet aggressive. MDM formula perfected. Giving this a 10 even if I think the instrumental final song is rather useless, but the rest is so good that it's not a big deal.
