Putting "masterpiece" in the title of your album is an incredibly hefty claim, and definitely needs backing up. You better be damned sure what you've created will not only standout in your own catalogue as the proud centrepiece of your career, but also knock down any potential competition. Well, as much as I'd hate to support such self-righteous boasting, Heavenwood really hit it home with this one.

Great riffs, great melodies, epic synths, and plenty of variety out the wazzoo. An incredibly deep sounding album no matter how you slice it. A must-hear for anyone who is looking for some top-notch 2011 releases.

Fun for the whole family.

I'm probably the only one not finding this really enjoyable. Gave it a seven cos I can't deny the hard work and quality, but I can't bare with it to the end no matter how many times I try.

That was exactly my point in the original post, how can someone judge an album if they don't even understand it. I always thought that if you rate something you take into account the whole product judging a book by it's cover springs to mind

Lyrics are a great part of music, sure, but not an essential element I would say.

That, sir, is agreed upon wholeheartedly by I.

I mean if lyrics were an essential element all the wonderful instrumental stuff out there would be pretty pointless.

This is similar to how I've felt about this album all year. I've just come back to it again for a final thought before the year's end regarding 2011 releases, and with such a high quality sound, it's amazing how quickly I fall asleep and the songs just pass me by. Not a single memorable song on this album for me, and quite overhyped in this thread.

I don't think it's overhyped, sure there are people who haven't heard a lot of stuff so they get hyped for everything, but I also see a lot of people who don't get impressed so easily giving it very high grades... it's just not for me. Too bad, I've hardly enjoyed any gothic releases this year.

I personally rated this around the same as the latest Draconian, and I agree it's a tad difficult to get through from beginning to end due to it being rather samey.

I could actually feel the difference between the songs, but I didn't like them much.

I cannot believe that Listenable Records did not promote this album as should have.....I barely saw any tours under this amazing album!!!! Not to mention that North America should have been on the moniker.....

Anyway....amazing album and most definitely the best album of 2011!!!!!! No questions asked number 1!!!!! A perfect 10!!!

Seems to be either a love-or-meh release. For me its a meh listen. Don't get me wrong the opening track "The Arcadia Order" is good, really good, but the rest off the album is rather snooze inducing. The quality is present and very obvious in the song writing, but I really can't seem to empathize with their sound of gothic metal.
