01. Ceci Est De La Musique

Additional info
This album was a very limited release (60 copies) for friends of Vaerohn only. This was done out of his frustration with Grotesque being downloaded illegally on the internet.

A fake version of this album was released by Vaerohn on the internet, which is a re-mixed and re-arranged version of "Grotesque".

Shit! So soon! Oh man, Vaerohn is a musical machine, I hope this will be as good as "Vacuum" and "Grotesque", I love both albums.

In my opinion this is a huge step forward. A very textured and intelligent album.

I can't compare it to previous albums but this one certainly impressed me. Such fulfilling music all around, great ideas, and everything so well connected.

I don't understand why it had to be one track though. There seemed to be several easy places to splice tracks without losing any continuity. Even with the recurring themes I think it would have worked as 5-6 tracks and been just as beautiful.

No matter really. The music was really stunning and even though it may have been sombre or chill at times, I never lost interest for a second.

Hmmm yeah I think this is the part that pissed me off a little bit. Found the one-track-album-concept completely unnecessary here. He couldn't pull it off since there were many many parts where you could just separate easily.

My problem with the album is that I don't feel the album is that well connected. It felt like the black metal parts ended so abruptly to get into the classical parts and vice versa... Even the debut is better at connecting things than this album (and the debut already got a bit of criticism for exactly that matter). Most of the carnaval-like moments aren't of my liking anyway. I've never heard the second album which is said to have many of those moments as well but I still feel that the bluesy and more serious atmosphere of the debut beats this one.

Hopefully this album will grow on me, I will give it something like 7,0 - 7,5 atm.

I've been reading talk around the web (youtube comments/blog comments/reddit/facebook/whatever) saying two things:
- That all digital versions of this album that have leaked are fake/actually a repackage of Grotesque
OR
- That this album may simply not exist (apparently MA refuses to add because of lack of physical evidence)

Any one of you guys has information on this?

This should receive the award for "Best Use of a Cuckoo-Clock Sound Effect in 2011"

I'm also wondering if this is a fake though. Not a bad fake by any means.

This album doesn't exist and should be deleted from here. Vaerohn confirmed it was fake, I guess he just wanted to caught reviewers who weren't familiar with Grotesque.

I'm still pretty confused by this. So he remixed the previous album, but no one who heard the previous album can recognize it? It's obviously a very different end result so... doesn't that make it, essentially, new music?

This album does exist, but only 60 copies were pressed (sources : flyer sent with Nom d'une pipe !), and were sent to Vaerohn's relatives only. He released the digital version, which is only a remix of Grotesque's tracks, mixed with some parts of the medley of the real Ceci est de la musique. This was explain in a newsletter sent by Vaerohn himself. See the comment of Nazamout at http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/pensees_nocturnes/ceci_est_de_la_musique/ to read a part of this newsletter... in French.
