I'm listening right now and I'm liking what I'm hearing so far. I will let you know my complete thoughts once I've heard it through a few times.

just wanking around.
You nailed it. After 3 minutes into track 1, I decided I won't be listening to this.

Everytime I listen to this album I don't quite like it (except the first track wich already runs for my personal best song of the year) but I'm more than eager to give it another listen. It seems to me it's one of those albums I might give a 9 after a dozen of listens.

I find this album awesome. Probably my favorite Krallice album.

Did someone ake a mistake with the song titles?!?!?
Nah.
Quote:
The song titles on Years Past Matter follow an interesting and unusual convention. Obviously there is a pattern to the sequence but is there a particular significance to what was used for the song titles or was it simply the desire to get outside the box when it came any literal interpretations?
Nick: The titles have no intrinsic meaning. There aren't supposed to be any titles except the big closer which is "Years Past Matter." The physical editions have no titles, but if your album is going to be released digitally, you need to have some sort of track names, and this was a sequencing that we found aesthetically pleasing.
So there isn't meaning in the titles, but there is meaning, de facto, in the gesture of not having them. I think after the concept-heavy Diotima we were sort of tired of that approach and wanted to just present the music rather than wrapping it in a bunch of cultural references. Your comment about being "too busy digging the tunes" is exactly the point.

Giving this a thorough listen. Pretty good for my tastes. I can see the atmospheric black or post black genre tags I've been seeing with this band.

The individual parts of songs are great, but as a whole fail to captivate me. Feels rather unstructured and loses its momentum frequently. Really interesting from a instrumental point of view though...

If you haven't yet, I'd recommend checking out Krallice's earlier material as it is (if only slightly) more coherent. I'd personally say go for Dimensional Bleedthrough, although their first three albums are really on par with one another.

Agreed, though I find the third one slightly inferior, the first two Krallice albums are absolutely stunning.

The myriad of melodies at 6:30 min of the second track is mindblowing. Same with the ending of fourth track and entire last track.

Brilliant album. So many layers and textures. One of the few albums I wish didn’t have vocals. They’re not bad by any means but the music itself is so vibrant they’re not really necessary.
