This is an album that's really easy to get into, understand, and listen to, yet it has just enough depth to make it a satisfying experience. A lot of digestible, mainstream appeal with this one, but not at all in a bad way. There is almost none of the boring tedium that makes most mainstream music unappealing for those who look for something deeper and more complex. The complexity and depth is perfectly balanced against the elements that allow it to appeal to a wide audience. For a shitty food analogy (I'm hungry, so that's what I am thinking of), it's like a lightly seasoned salmon with palatable pale ale. This isn't a blue-fin tuna filet with beluga caviar and fine wine, but this isn't fish sticks with ketchup and bud light either.

The only problem I have with this is that pretty much every song follows the verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus structure of most popular music. While Tremonti still does interesting things within that structure, I feel it could've been much better if there was more deviation in the build of each song.

Maybe I'll write a review for this later, but right now, I'm gonna use this mini-review to give it about an 8.2.

EDIT: the more time passes, the more I realize that, while the songwriting is good, the terribly brick-walled production takes this down quite a bit. Real easy to get tired of listening to this overly-polished, horribly clipped disaster of a mastering job, as much as I enjoy the other elements.

Very good album especially for his first solo album "8.4" .
